Okay I have been rather busy so I haven’t been doing as much
cooking as I like. Well I have been cooking but it is stuff I have already made
so no point in posting it again. I thought I should post something so here is
it another music review and this time it is Ingrid Michaelson! This is Ingrid’s
latest album called Human Again and as always with her it is amazing!
I
honestly love her music and this album did not disappoint in any way! I love it
when I can listen to an album from start to finish and love every song. This is
what you get to do with this album. Of course I have a few favorites which are Fire,
How We Love, Palm of my Hand and Ghost. You will probably like most of these
too since I have great taste in music ;) I have to say I find this album more
mature and a bit more hard not the regular folky pop we have come to know from
our Ingrid but still an amazing album. I honestly and whole heartedly recommend
this album, I could listen to it for hours on end and I won’t lie I have had it
on repeat at work since it came out J
Okay now stop reading this review and go and buy this
album!!!
Oh and a side note I won tickets to see Il Divo yesterday!!
They are playing at the Metro Centre on May 24th and I thought I wasn’t
going to be able to see them because I’m in a bit of saving mode (trip to
Dominican in April please and thanks) and floor seats happen to be more then I
want to spend . I figured I would wait and see what happened and maybe get some
last minute. Well the Metro Centre did a giveaway on Twitter saying the first
person to tweet their favorite Il Divo love song would win a pair of tickets to
the show! So I quickly tweeted my answer which was just the first song that
popped into my head and BAM Winner right here! I cannot wait! I love Il Divo and
I love just going to concerts! YAY for me! J

As you know Pinterest is one of my addictions and I love
crafting so mix them together and BAM you have a very happy Brittany! I made
this wreath back in September but I thought I would share it now with everyone!
You will need: yarn and a lot if you want to wrap your
wreath a few times
Foam wreath
Hot glue gun
Fake flowers
You will begin by gluing down your yarn, which I cut a super
long piece because it was easier to handle since I didn’t feel like making the
roll into a ball. Now I made my first wrap very neat and tight and even the
second layer was pretty neat but the 3rd and 4th roll
were much more just lets get the wreath form covered and I didn’t want it to
look too perfect. Once it was covered the way I liked it I braided a loop of
yarn to be the ‘hook’ and I added on some fake flowers and leaves. Here are
some pictures! It is very pretty and just a lovely craft to make but I most
warn you if you’re not in a crafting mood this one would take you awhile to
finish. I suggest watching your TV show when wrapping your yarn! J Happy crafting!

Review
A
few weeks ago my momma and I were in Halifax doing some shopping for her
upcoming trip to LA and the Grammys! Yes you read that right my momma is going
to the Grammys! Excited and totes jealous right here! It was a miserable day!
Raining cats and dogs for most of the day! Once we had gotten our shopping done
we decided to have a nice dinner and a glass of wine at il Mercato (the Bedford
location). It was only 4:30 when we got there so it was not busy, we settled in
for a lovely evening of delicious food and great wine!
We
started with a glass of Spy Valley, which is a Sauvignon
Blanc from New Zealand. It is one of my favorite wines I could drink it
everyday. For starters Mom had Wild
mushroom and prosciutto Risotto croquettes, fresh Mozzarella centre, warm
tomato, basil pesto Genovese sauce and I had the Jumbo Shrimp sautéed with
roasted garlic, cream, white wine, Italian parsley. They are both as divine as
they sound. The sauce for the jumbo sauce is almost the whole reason I get the
shrimp. Yes I do enjoy shrimp but that sauce is something else. For our mains
mom had the handmade Ravioli filled with roasted chicken, wild mushrooms &
Cambozola, Mushroom sherry cream sauce and I had the tagliatelle, Jumbo Shrimp,
Mussels, Scallops, Local Lobster, garlic, tomato, cream, sherry splash. So
delicious! I do not think I can even find the words to describe how tasty our
meal was, truly a delicious meal. Even though we were quite full we decided to splurge
and get dessert mom got the bread pudding and I got the bourbon tart! Perfect
sweet ending to our meal and I may or may not have gotten a second glass of
wine with dessert ;) told you I loved it!
We had a wonderful waiter who was
attentive but not so much that he was annoying. I love the atmosphere in this
place and just how lovely and relaxed it was. If you’re looking for a nice
evening out please do try il Mercato in Bedford or downtown Halifax, I’m sure
you will not ever regret it.

Super Bowl Sunday! Yeah I’m not that amped on football
either! But always a fan of the half time shows! My favorite is still Britney
Spears! Madonna did decent last night though! The visual projections were
insane and I found out they were done by a Canadian company! Go CANADA! Anyways,
I have been wanting to make some snacks I found on Pinterest so what better
excuse then the Super Bowl! I was super nervous about one of my recipes because
even my mother doesn’t deal with the scary dry active yeast! Yes, I was making
soft pretzel bites so basically I was making mini loaves of bread! As a novice
in the kitchen this was a lot for me to take on! I’m becoming more and more
fearless in the kitchen so I decided to do it even though I was totally scared
of ruining it! It is the yeast that scares me! It has to foam or you have
basically ruined everything before it you get started. So I near gave myself a heart attack
making these tots of goodness! But in the end they are totally worth it and so
delish!! Warm out of the oven so good! Add some cheese sauce and damn it is
like you got them from a real pretzel maker! Which I now consider myself!!
Check them out!!
After making the pretzel tots I decided it would be easy
snacks for the rest of the day! Dips! Because you cannot have the Super Bowl
without having chips and dip! Like come on even I know that and I don’t do
football! I made Loaded Baked Potato Dip and Cookie Dough Dip! Both easy and
SUPER yummy(get it Super yummy Super Bowl) ! I would suggest halving the Cookie
Dough Dip if you’re not making it for a bunch of people because it makes a lot!
Sadly I’m sure I will be throwing some of it away because I didn’t think it was
going to make that much! Actually both dips could be divided! I did half the
Potato dip (which would be amazing on a baked potato) because it was going to
be make 4 cups and there was only 5 of us here so yeah no need for that much
dip! And here they are!
Hope you had a great weekend! I have blogs planned for
everyday this week so finger crossed it happens!! Xo
PS Download Risk by Paul Brant amazing song!

Last Monday I was in charge of dinner because I really
wanted to try this pulled pork recipe! Why you ask? Because there is only THREE
ingredients!! I was thinking how can there be only three! This doesn’t even
make sense to me! I know I love me some easy recipes but this seemed beyond
easy as it was a slow cooker meal with three ingredients! But it seemed like it
should be quite tasty so I figured why not and gave it a shot! Here is all you
need to know, slow cooker on low, place in pork tenderloin, pour can of root
beer over pork, cook for 6 hours! Take out pork and discard liquid in cooker,
pull apart pork and place back in slow cooker, add almost a bottle of BBQ sauce and keep warm! It was
pretty darn delish! We had it on toasted hamburger buns with coleslaw! Yummy in
my tummy! Here is a picture of the pulled pork! I meant to take a picture of
the meal but I forgot! Oops My bad!!
Side note for anyone who saw that I was making homemade
fruit roll ups yesterday I just wanted to let you know they didn’t turn out how
I thought they should so I’m going to attempt it again another time! I can’t
say why it they didn’t turn they just didn’t maybe too long in the oven I don’t
know! Anyways let just not talk about this fail in the kitchen!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! True but
this doesn’t make me eat my breakfast every morning like I should! It is
normally a quick piece of toast before running out the door to get to work by
7am! Yes I work at 7am but the bonus is that I’m done at 3:15! This will often
make for more productive days because you’re not just getting home at 5, making
dinner and then wanting to crash! But back to the point….breakfast! I was on my
favorite blog Pearls, Handcuffs and Happy Hour and she makes egg muffins! They
are like mini omelets and you can put whatever you want in them to make your
own yummy egg muffins! I added in peppers, onions, green onions and bacon. You
mix your extras in with 6 eggs and some shredded cheese and then pour the
mixture into a well sprayed muffin tin! Seriously I mean well sprayed with Pam!
Those little suckers will stick! Pop them in the oven for 30-35 minutes and bam
you have breakfast for the week! I placed them in an air tight container and
they last for the week really well J
Happy Breakfast Everyone!
