Weekend Update!

20 October 2014 1 comment
Monday, Monday, so good to me;
Monday morning, it was all I hoped it would be.
Oh, Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Monday, Monday, can't trust that day;
Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way.
Oh, Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be.
Oh, Monday, Monday, how could you leave and not take me?
Every other day, every other day
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah.
But whenever Monday comes - but whenever Monday comes
You can find me crying all of the time.
Monday, Monday, so good to me;
Monday morning, it was all I hoped it would be.
But Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Every other day, every other day
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah.
But whenever Monday comes - but whenever Monday comes
You can find me crying all of the time.
Monday, Monday, can't trust that day;
Monday, Monday, it just turns out that way.
Oh, Monday, Monday, won't go away;
Monday, Monday, it's here to stay.
Oh Monday, Monday
Oh Monday, Monday
-Mamas and Papas

I have decided that weekends will never be long enough! But I won't say this weekend wasn't a good one! Nothing exciting happened but I got so much done! This weekend was super productive! I normally have a pretty productive weekend when I want to but this weekend was extra awesome in the productivity realm!

I got so much school work done! Just checked off so many assignments and started on a few more. I'm so excited about this because the end of October and beginning of November was going to be an assignment due shit storm! Now, I will be cruisin'. And to top off the productivity to a higher level I cleaned out my closet! All summer clothes are packed and away! I have my winter clothes out but I'm going to freshen them up in the dryer before I put them away.

I feel really good starting this week off now with so much done! How was everyone else's weekend? I hope it was good was mine :)

Monday Monday....Wish it was Friday afternoon already!

Yes, I know I shouldn't be wishing my life away but it is a long weekend coming and I need it! I have been working my butt off with school so I would be able to just relax this coming weekend and guess what barring any major assignments coming up (which I wouldn't be surprised if we got one in communications) I will be able to just relax this weekend! YIPEE!! I'm excited to just chill and not worry about anything for the weekend.

Okay, so this weekend wasn't action packed but it wasn't boring either. On Friday, I went to Truro in the evening with Erica because one of our favorite scrapbooking stores was set up at a Scrapbooking weekend there. Since we normally only see them at Crop and Create we decided we should probably head over and see them. Of course we had to pick up some new supplies too! I honestly could have spent an insane amount of money there, they always have the best products! We also had dinner at Frank and Gino's which was delish. Oh and I may have popped into Sally's Beauty for a couple of things.

On Saturday it was Gone Girl day! Myself, Erica and our cousin Ashdenne had all read the book, I read it because Erica and Ashdenne said I had to so we could all go and enjoy the movie together when it came out. This was back in August so we had a countdown! We even wished each other Happy Gone Girl day! Since Ashdenne couldn't go on Friday we did postpone for a day. If you haven't read the book I HIGHLY recommend it! I feel I enjoyed the movie more because I had read the book. I also think this is the best novel turned movie I have ever seen! Normally the book is always better and yes this book was still better but the movie really stayed true to the book and lived up to it. I think this is probably because Gillian Flynn the author was the one to adapt the novel into a screenplay. Rosamund Pike played Amy Dunn perfectly, Ben Affleck was great at Nick! They had the chemistry they needed for the role and I honestly can't hype this book and film up enough for you! I hope you read the book and see the movie. I will warn you if you don't like the book and movie I will be inwardly judging you.

Sunday Funday! I went to brunch with the family down in Pictou which was as yummy as it always is at Stone Soup Cafe. After that I did some errands with Erica and then it was homework and laundry for the rest of day! I know exciting! It was a productive day though and that is all that matters sometimes!

How was your weekend? Any exciting plans for this week?

Happy Monday Everyone!

Okay I didn't do a great job getting back into blogging last week but this is going to be harder than I first thought! I'm so out of practice with blogging I forget I was even going to blog half the time! So lets cross our fingers for a better week this week!

As I didn't bake/cook anything exciting last week I decided to just make this a ramble blog about my weekend. I'm adding Friday into this because we had our first client day of the semester on Friday. I got to do a roller set on one client and a cut and style on another! I was nervous about it before but the day went great and we all got through it amazingly! Job well done to all of us! After school was over I honestly just chilled for the rest of day because I was tired from the full week of school. Saturday, I have to say I didn't do that much either. I went to lunch with Erica and finished baby shower shopping for my friend Deena since Sunday I was going up to Halifax for the shower. Saturday night I was super cool and did laundry and homework! I know you're jealous but not all of us can be that cool!

Sunday I was up and off around 10:30 with Erica to Halifax for the shower. The shower was so much fun and very well done by Deena's twin sister Dawn and mother Linda. Not only did I get to have a lovely time at the shower but I was able to spend some time with some of my favorite people. We had a great afternoon of chatter, games and shower food! I wish I lived closer so I could everyone more. I say this and my friends here I don't see enough either! Anyways it was a great weekend but never long enough! I could use for some more relaxing time but alas I will sleep when I'm dead right?

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo

Weekend Update!

What? Is this really happening? I'm actually giving a weekend update on Monday!! Miracles never cease to exist! I have to say I love summer weekends, yes I know all weekends are awesome but there is something but summer that just makes them better. This is probably because I love summer so much. This weekend was a lovely weekend full of family, friends, laughter, happiness and sun!

This weekend I was lucky enough to be able to celebrate my friends' wedding. Myself and my friend Megan were also happy to do the hair and make up of the wedding party. Thanks for trusting us to that Natalie! Not that I'm bias but she looked so beautiful! The day was great! I got to spend the morning with the wedding party before rushing home to get myself ready for the wedding. The ceremony was lovely and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. The dinner and dance was great, the food was very good! It was a buffet of salmon, salads, beef, seafood chowder and biscuits. There was an assortment of desserts along with cupcakes. All of it was delicious! Then of course the dance was super fun! There was five of us there together from high school and we were all each others dates so it was a girls' night at the wedding and it was a lot of fun. The DJ played some great music and we danced most of the night away. Here are some pictures from Saturday.....

On Sunday we headed down to my uncle Bill's cottage for some BBQ. My aunt Marjorie and uncle Paul are home for a visit so we all went there for a nice meal. I love being down on the shore and they have great spot down at the cottage. We all had a nice evening together and I got some good pictures on the beach. It was a great weekend and I hope you had a great weekend too. I will leave you with some pictures from Sunday evening.

Weekend Update!

Monday again! I have been 30 for a whole week now! I have to say nothing feels different so I have dealt with the big 3-0 pretty well I think. This weekend was also the wrap up of my birthday celebrations! Lets go back to beginning of the weekend though.

On Friday, I just chilled because I wasn't feeling great from getting my flu shot earlier in the week and I was going to Halifax the next day so laying low for the night was a great plan. On Saturday, Erica and myself headed off to Halifax to go to Christmas at the Forum as it has become a bit of a tradition. We did some shopping around the city before heading to the Forum. We meet up with Tiana, Deena and Gavin. We normally have Danielle with us but she was sick :( Stupid cold! We were also missing Meghan and Melissa! Next year, we are all going together girls! Though it is always crazy busy and I rarely buy anything I love going and walking around, which if you knew me and how I normally hate crowds, this would come as a surprise to you. It is like the kick off for the holidays though. You have to love it! After, we toured around the forum and got Tiana's grandma a firefighters' calendar. Yes that kind of calendar haha We all went to dinner at Boston Pizza and had a nice catch up. We didn't leave until 10pm to drive home. But it was a lovely day in the city so it was all worth it.

Sunday, I slept in and loved having an extra hour of sleep because of the time change! Mind you I don't like the time change when it is dark at 5:15pm in the evening! But it is nice in the morning for sure! Anyways, it was time for my birthday lunch with my lovely ladies! We just went to Pizza Delight and had a wonderful visit with each other. Always nice to get out with the girls and just have a good chat with each other. After lunch I ran some errands and then watched some curling! Another reason to love the fall and winter, it is curling season. Hockey and curling are my sports!

It was great weekend. I have had some great weekends the last two weekends and this weekend coming up is a long weekend and my brother is going to home from school. I hope you all had a great weekend! Must go and check my soup now! Hopefully it turns out and I can tell you all about it!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Ready for the weekend baby! Oh wait it is Monday! How did that happen? This weekend flew by! And yup you got it right not one picture to show for it! I did take some pictures of some stuff I bought yesterday for instagram so you can check them out on the sidebar. I really need to get better at my weekend picture taking. And, yes I know I say that a lot!

Anyways, lets get back to my weekend! Friday, I went to see Prisoners with my family because my brother was home and we talked him into going to the movies! This is probably because none of his friends were home! Just kidding he likes spending some time with us. It was a nice evening out with everyone. The movie was good but I have to say it was long too long for me. I did like it but they honestly didn't have to make it 2.5 hour movie! Great acting in the movie though! On Saturday Erica, Chase and myself voted before we headed to Halifax to take Chase back and so we could check out Target, since it just opened on Tuesday. I got the cutest slippers from Target and they were only like $12. I could have gotten a lot more but I decided to hold back. The only thing I'm sad about is that they don't have ELF. I was looking forward to being able to get more ELF make up brushes since the ones I have are quite nice and totally doing the trick. We got to spend a nice afternoon with Chase shopping before dropping him off at his apartment. After that we went and did a bit more shopping and then headed off to dinner with my friends Danielle, Deena and Gavin. Erica's friend Johnny also joined us for dinner at Jack Astor's. It was great meeting up with them because I hadn't seen them since Danielle's wedding in August. Good food and good company! That can't help but be a good night! After dinner, me and Erica hit up Starbucks before heading back home.

First official day of fall and it basically felt like summer for most of the day! We decided to clean out Erica's car like cleaning it out, vacummed and taken to the car wash! It is all nice and shiny now! Other than that I didn't do much I have to say! I was being lazy and I liked it! haha I did watch the Emmys and I will have a Emmys' fashion post for you tomorrow.

I'm going to wrap this up now because I will just be rambling even more if I don't stop now. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weekend Update!

Can we for one second talk about the fact this is the last Monday in August!? When did this happen? Where did this month go!? Honestly, it feels like last week I was getting ready for Jubilee and Danielle & Anthony's wedding! And I'm more sad that means summer is almost over! Summer is my favorite so I'm kinda bummed but that just means Christmas is around the corner and we all know how much I love Christmas!!

Okay, so this weekend wasn't eventful at all! I have to say I didn't mind because most weekend this summer have been jammed packed! On Friday, I went and got my brow did! Man, is there anything better than having your brows freshly done!? I love it! Then I had a little play date with my friend Danielle and her little one Quinn! I could eat Quinn up she is so freaking cute! On Friday night I ended up going to dinner with my parents and my aunt Bev and uncle Bill at Hebels'. It was lovely! The meal was fantastic as always! It was also nice to have a meal with my uncle and aunt because we haven't been able to do it much this summer. Saturday I was totally boring! I stayed in bed until late morning watching Criminal Minds and then Good Luck Charlie! Yup, that is what you get when you're almost 30 and still like the Disney channel haha Then I cleaned the house and laundry for most of the day. I also got caught up on my Real Housewives of the OC! We are finally starting the reunion episodes this week I think! I can't wait! Sunday, total lazy around the house kind of day because I finished what I needed to do on Saturday!

So, that right there in a nutshell was my weekend! Hope you all had a nice weekend too :)

A Nice day for a WIGHT Wedding! Weekend Update (Picture HEAVY)

05 August 2013 4 comments

Hey Everyone! Happy Natal Day to anyone who is celebrating it! Sorry this post is coming a tad late but I have been trying to be productive while trying to recover from the weekend! Yes, that is right I'm not 20 anymore so trying to be a weekend warrior really isn't my thing! But it was a great weekend so I won't be complaining.

This weekend was a the big annual Jubilee Music Festival here and on top of that I had a wedding in Halifax on Saturday! Busy times! On Friday, I headed out to dinner at Salt Water Cafe with Erica and Johnny for a bite and a drink before heading back to ours for some drinks and then heading down to the Jubilee. Johnny bought a new Smirnoff Ice by accident as he thought it was a new beer so I ended up drinking it and I really liked it! It was fruit punch flavored! Very yummy! We headed down to the Jubilee around 9:15 to catch the end of Gloryhounds and to see Sheepdogs. Fun fact about the Sheepdogs they were the first unsigned band to be on the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine! Both bands were really good and I'm glad I got to see them. We didn't stay for most of Alert the Medic because we had to get up early to get wedding ready and then head off to Halifax!

It was funny because we picked up food on the way out of town for lunch and we actually took towels to use as bibs so we didn't get anything on our dresses because we were going straight to the ceremony when we got to the city! The ceremony was lovely and everyone looked amazing. Danielle the bride was stunning! Her dressed matched her personality perfectly! I don't think she could have found a better dress for herself. Anthony the groom looked great in his grey suit too!

Once the ceremony was over we headed to our hotel because we had some time between the ceremony and cocktail hour. We actually stopped at Wheaton's to try and find Erica a lamp but that turned out to be a bust! We stayed at the Westin because it was really close to Pier 21 where they were having the reception. Cocktail hour was very nice and everyone got 2 drink tickets when they came in (thumbs up). Since it was nice out and kinda warm I won't lie it was great that there was AC in the venue because no one likes to sweaty all night! Once cocktail hour was over we headed into the other half of the space to have dinner and get the speeches under way! Dinner was very good! We started with a mixed greens salad with pear, walnut and feta...HOLY YUMMY! Then I had the beef tenderloin and boy was that tasty! Erica had the chicken and she said it was really good too. Both were served with veggies and potatoes. Dessert also very good! Chocolate tart or a cream pastry. The speeches were great and luckily no one took eight years to get theirs out. And I only cried once! It was for the Maid of Honor speech because I know I will be the same when I have to do one for Erica. Monique who is Danielle's older sister did a great job making me cry! They had cupcakes for the cake and they were yummy of course too! Both Danielle and Anthony are very into music so our favors were vinyl records and guitar picks! Love them! Also, because they are music fans they had the BEST playlist for the night! All the songs you wanted to dance too and just have a great time! Best ones of course were the Backstreet Boys ones because well me and Danielle know each other because of Backstreet boys! I honestly could go on and on and on about the wedding because it was one amazing night but I will tie it up here and just give you some pictures :)

Just going to add one thing: Love you Danielle and Anthony!

Okay almost done now! On Sunday we got up and I swear I was almost dead because I was so tired! Two night in a row of partying was catching up to me! This is almost 30 not 20! lol I had a headache too LOL But, we got ready, checked out and headed to the Farmer's Market for some browsing before we headed to the mall to find that lamp we didn't find at Wheaton's! Shopping Sunday was a much better day because we found a lamp and rug! Success! Anyways, it was a great time in Halifax but it was time to head home because we had one more night of Jubilee to hit up! When we got home I went for a nap lol but ended up not being able to sleep. Around 8:30 we started to round everything up and left around 9 so we didn't miss any of Great Big Sea well when we got there the line to get in was MASSIVE!! We ended up missing the first 3 songs before we got in but we did have a good time! It is funny that they could get people beer faster than they could get us in the venue! haha Great Big were great as always and I hope we get them back again because they sold out the night! First time it has happened :)

It was a great weekend! I'm still tired so time to get this finished so I can soon go to bed! Hope you all had a great weekend too!

This Weekend I....Weekend Update

15 July 2013 6 comments

Welcome to Monday Again! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend! I know I did! And I have NO pictures to show for it! I swear I need to make a better effort with my picture taking on the weekend especially! Anyways, lets get on with this post!

On Friday night I had a super chill night, I wasn't feeling all that great so I just lazed around most of the night. Saturday, again I was pretty lazy and it was hot so why not really! I did have to run out and get the rest of my present for my lovely Danielle since it was her bridal shower yesterday! I also got some big news that one of my friends is getting married in TWO WEEKS! Yup, wasn't expecting it but great news for sure! Spent most of my Saturday night texting and FBing about that news! haha

Sunday was Danielle's bridal shower as I mentioned before and it was a lovely (very hot) afternoon. Her sister Monique hosted a fantastic shower for her! The weather was super hot but we all dealt with it in style! This should just show Danielle how much we love her! They had a lovely spread of sandwiches and sweets, can we all agree on the fact that sandwiches taste so much better at showers!? We course did the how well do you know Danielle games and all that fun jazz. I'm not a big cheesy shower game player but the games Monique planned were the good ones! Our party favors was a little tea cup with lavender planted in it! I'm hoping I don't kill the lavender! After the shower, I headed to dinner with my momma and Erica at Montana's and it was delish! After that we headed home and I spent the rest of my night reading The Storytellers by Jodi Picoult and wow such an amazing book so far! I have never read anything by Jodi Picoult before but Erica has read most if not all of her books and Erica said this was her best one and it isn't quite the same as most of her books. I'm totally wrapped up into this book! A very good read for anyone looking for a new book!

Now, I wasn't sure I wanted to bring this up on my blog just because I find it so sad, but as a Glee fan I wanted to send my love and prayers to all of Cory Monteith family and friends. As many of us did I woke up to the news of him being found dead in his hotel room. I was shocked and when I saw it I didn't even want to believe it like it must have been some kind of twitter death joke but when you see things on CNN it makes it all too real. I know none of his family or friends will never see this blog but I'm heartbroken for them, I could not imagine losing someone like that. No one had bad words about him, he took as much time as he could for his fans and he worked hard. He didn't seem to have the Hollywood attitude many younger stars get. This just makes me so sad. He was young, talented, handsome and kind.

RIP Cory Monteith
