Weekend Update!

21 July 2014 1 comment
What? Is this really happening? I'm actually giving a weekend update on Monday!! Miracles never cease to exist! I have to say I love summer weekends, yes I know all weekends are awesome but there is something but summer that just makes them better. This is probably because I love summer so much. This weekend was a lovely weekend full of family, friends, laughter, happiness and sun!

This weekend I was lucky enough to be able to celebrate my friends' wedding. Myself and my friend Megan were also happy to do the hair and make up of the wedding party. Thanks for trusting us to that Natalie! Not that I'm bias but she looked so beautiful! The day was great! I got to spend the morning with the wedding party before rushing home to get myself ready for the wedding. The ceremony was lovely and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. The dinner and dance was great, the food was very good! It was a buffet of salmon, salads, beef, seafood chowder and biscuits. There was an assortment of desserts along with cupcakes. All of it was delicious! Then of course the dance was super fun! There was five of us there together from high school and we were all each others dates so it was a girls' night at the wedding and it was a lot of fun. The DJ played some great music and we danced most of the night away. Here are some pictures from Saturday.....

On Sunday we headed down to my uncle Bill's cottage for some BBQ. My aunt Marjorie and uncle Paul are home for a visit so we all went there for a nice meal. I love being down on the shore and they have great spot down at the cottage. We all had a nice evening together and I got some good pictures on the beach. It was a great weekend and I hope you had a great weekend too. I will leave you with some pictures from Sunday evening.

Long Weekend Break....

03 July 2014 6 comments
Hello my lovelies! Sorry for the break in posts I didn't even mean to have one but I haven't really even been online in the past week because of life. But since I haven't posted in a bit I do have a nice recap to give you! Lets get on with it shall we?

Last Thursday it was raining cats and dogs all day! Such gross weather but I was having dinner with some of my girlfriends and one of the girl's baby! Nathaniel is so adorable just love him! He is really good baby too let us all have our dinner in peace :) It was nice dinner and lovely to have a nice catch up with the girls. Friday, not much happened on Friday actually or I at least can't remember what happened LOL

Saturday was a bit of a lazy day, the weather was beautiful and has continued since then. Erica and I headed to lunch at Sharon's which of course was delish as always and then we decided on Tuesday we would go to PEI for the day! Chase wasn't home to ask if he wanted to go but we knew he would since we have been going for so many years and he had the day off for Canada Day so why wouldn't he really? Erica was off to her staff party that evening. For dinner myself and the 'rents headed down to Salt Water Cafe, it was super nice down there on the water with the breeze blowing since it was pretty warm all day. Lovely meal the parents for sure. Sunday and Monday were pool days! I seriously just laid by the pool all day and swam around. Monday night we cleaned out the car in prep for our PEI day trip and went to the fireworks! I love fireworks and they were quite good this year :)

Tuesday, we were up bright and early to catch the 8am ferry over to PEI. It was nice ferry ride and the weather was beautiful again. Once we got to PEI we headed to Cavendish and to mini golf! Mariner's Cove was our first mini golf stop, this one is the hardest one we do because it is most like actually golf. It it always a lot of fun though :) Chase of course won and Erica bet me too! I played real crappy! LOL After this we walked around the place a bit because it has a few shops and we all wanted a drink since it was super HOT! We decided to head to the beach to cool down a bit after this and it was a great idea since there was a beautiful breeze off the water and the water was quite nice as well. Then it was time for some lunch and the Cavendish Boardwalk! For lunch we grabbed some hot dogs and fries from a place on the boardwalk and of course I can't remember the name of the place! It was quite good :) We then walked around the boardwalk for a bit checking out some stores before heading out to play some more mini golf! We alway stopped into the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company. They have the best mugs, tea pots, teas and of course preserves! One of these trips we will have lunch there. After that we headed for dinner at New Glasgow Lobster Suppers! I honestly don't think there is any place that has better lobster suppers! You never have a bad meal there. Staff is always great, food great, atmosphere great! I just love it there! We left quite full and headed back into Charlottetown and made a quick stop at the Casino since we had some time to kill before we needed to head to the ferry! Again the ferry ride was nice and easy! Another very successful Wilson Kids' trip to PEI!

How was your Canada Day long weekend? Or what your plans for your 4th of July weekend?

Weekend Update and a Tag!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! It was great weather, had good people around so I could I have not had a great weekend!? This weekend was the 5th annual Beerfest for my brother and his friends. I swear they will be bringing their kids at some point because whenever it is talked about being maybe the last year for it they all freak out!

It was lunchtime on Saturday and the boys start coming! Yes, this is an all day event of beer pong, endurance challenges and whatever else they can turn into a beer game. There are teams and brackets and at the end of the night a winner is named. Sadly, Chase's team did not again this year. Since, we have the two dogs myself and Erica decided to take them away for the day as make sure they did not get in the way of beer fest. We headed off for our doggie adventure soon after the boys started to arrive. We ended for Antigonish with a stop in Arisaig and then we stopped for a little snack at Tim Horton's before headed on to Pomquet Beach. It was a lovely day! It kind of became overcast but it didn't rain on us so it was all good! The poopies were so tired they slept much of the drive home. It was great day out exploring around Antigonish because honestly I have never been to Arisaig or Pomquet! They were both very nice. It nice to actually tour around your own province sometimes. When we got back Beerfest was in full swing! The night ended around 11:30 and clean up began! Thank god for one of the boys who works at the local garbage dump for the summer! He took over 3 huge bins and we got to throw everything in them and he would look after it for us! That made clean up much easier! Thanks Nick! It was great day for the boys and they are good boys so it isn't bad having them around. Another successful Beerfest in the books with our Mom as MVP 2 years in a row because without Brenda there would be no beerfest.

Sunday, somewhat productive day! Did laundry, cleaned up, got some blogs ready for the week and just chilled out. Good Sunday! Hope you all had a great weekend too and I hope you're all having a great week!

Now, onto the tag that Miranda tagged me in last week! The 6 Things You Should Know About Me Tag!

1. If You could meet any blogger in person, who would you choose?
-I really had to think about this one because there is a few I would love to meet! But lets be honest, we know all I would love to meet PinkLouLou in person at a Carrie Underwood concert! We would have so much fun! PLL just seems like one of the sweetest people around! We have lots in common and she could do my hair! haha Yup it would be PinkLouLou for sure!

2. Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
-Watch terrible reality TV! I have a few episodes of RHOC to catch up on right now! But I also love to take pictures, scrapbook, listen to music and write.

3. What's the best piece of advice anyone has given you?
-Just to be yourself and don't think you have to prove yourself to anyone. I think just being yourself is hard a lot of time because you're trying to please people or whatever but I think for the most part now I'm at a place in my life where I don't feel the need to act a different way around certain people or whatever. I can be myself and that is perfectly okay. I think that might come with age too, you just get more comfortable with yourself.

4. How did your blog come about?
-I have always loved writing and had some kind of blog! It started back with livejournal and has evolved into this blog. I have started and stopped many blog but for some reason this one has stuck! I like having a place where I can write whatever I want and save my memories.

5. Name one good deed you did that went unseen?
A few years back I helped out an elderly couple quickly. The husband was having trouble getting his wife out of her wheelchair. I quickly gave hand and went on my way. I know it did not go unseen by the couple I helped but it made me feel great for days because they were so thankful.

6. Who inspires you?
-My parents, they have always told me I could do whatever I wanted to. They have been together for 35 years and are still very much in love. I couldn't have asked for better parents.

I tag...

I heart Summer Tag! from Ingrid!

16 July 2013 8 comments
Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you all had a good Monday. Today, I decided to do the I heart Summer tag! If you watch YouTube videos you know Ingrid aka MissGlamorazzi. She came up with the I heart Spring Tag and did the I heart Summer tag recently. After I saw it I decided why not just throw it as a blog post! So, here are my answers to the I heart Summer tag! You can find Ingrid's YouTube channel here!

The Questions:

1. Favorite bronzer for summer? My favorite bronzer is Rimmel's Natural Bronzer in Sun Glow...it is perfect bronze for me, I like the color it gives you. If you're really pale you might not like this bronzer.

2. You're relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? (Favorite summer drink) light rum and lemonade, makes me think of Dominican and the beach :)

3. Favorite summer lip product? EOS lip balm in Sweet mint! Love it for keeping my lips soft.

4. Pool or Beach? Both! I love laying by the pool or at the beach :)

5. Summer = crazy hair! What's your must-have styling product? Not really a product but hair ties! So you can throw your hair up in a messy bun and still look fashionable.

6. Sun bathing or fake tan? Both, sorry I'm outside too much in the summer not to tan! Just remember your sun screen folks!

7. Favorite summer nail polish? I have been LOVING Selena by Selena Gomez for Nicole OPI. I think it is the perfect peach shade!

8. Any summer traditions? Family BBQs, drive in dates, girls dinner at Saltwater, PEI Wilson kids trip.

9. Favorite summer scent? Sunscreen! haha

10. Favorite BBQ food? I'm going with Ingrid on this one and I'm gonna say meats!

11. What's your favorite summer-proof product? Again, going with Ingrid and I'm going with Urban Decay's De slick setting spray! It is great!

12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip! I have already been on one summer trip to PEI with my sister Erica and our friend Katie to see a concert featuring Serena Ryder but we plan on going over again for the day because we have a tradition of the Wilson kids going over! So, myself and my siblings have to go over! Other than that I'm doing more staycations this summer because it is that kind of summer :)

And lets not forget it is Tuesday Tunes!

Today I'm going with Brave by Sara Bareilles because she is amazing and I love her! Enjoy! PS her new album is out today and you should get it!

Weekend Update!

02 July 2013 4 comments

Yes, I'm a day late with my weekend update but I was away since it was long weekend here in Canada :) I had excellent mini vacay away in Prince Edward Island! I have been going to PEI since I was a little girl and I swear I love it as much now as I did then.

We went over for the last day of the Big Red Music Festival to see Serena Ryder and Great Big Sea! They were amazing! I have seen Serena Ryder five times now and she still gives me chills! I just love her! Now, I had never seen Great Big Sea before and boy was I missing out! They are fantastic, since a fun band to party too! I'm so happy I get to see them again at the Jubilee! Also, got a bit ahead of myself talking about the concert first because before that we did some fun stuff too! We did some shopping and I got my dress for my friend's wedding YAY! We went to Cows to get the best ice cream ever, I got Messie Bessie so yummy! We went to Anne of Green Gables Chocolates to get some chocolate covered potato chips for a treat after the concert! And probably my favorite thing we went to New Glasgow Lobster supper! Best place to have a lobster dinner ever!

The next day was tourist day! We got up and went to Smitty's for breakfast because we knew Cora's was going to be super busy! We had a nice yummy breakfast and then headed out to Cavendish! When we got there we headed for some mini golfing and I won! Whoop Whoop! It was overcast for the most part but we decided to head to the beach after mini golf because it was rather muggy and when we were at the best the sun came out and it was beautiful! I love the beaches in PEI! Cavendish is actually rated one of the top 10 in the world! Love beaches! After the beach we headed for the boardwalk! Love walking around there and having a beaver tail! This year I got a chocolate and banana one and man was it tasty! Then, we decided on another round of mini golf and I didn't do good this time but hey I won the first one hahaha Then, it was time to head to Fisherman's Wharf for one more lobster dinner before we headed back to the ferry to head home. Another wonderful dinner!

Another great to trip to PEI! Hope to make one more this summer so the Wilson kids still get their annual PEI trip together :)
