Crafts = Fall?

07 September 2016 3 comments
September brings back to school and basically the start of fall even though fall does not really start until closer to the end of September. Also even though I have been out of close for a bit now the school year marks a new year for me. I know a lot of you are the same and I have to say that September/Fall always marks the true beginning of my crafting season.

Now, I will say I do some crafting all year round but honestly you will rarely find me crafting in the summer! The odd rainy day maybe but even then probably not. End of August start of September, I will creep down to my craft area clean and re-organize, maybe even toss some ideas around for Christmas cards. Middle of September press your ear to the door and you might even hear some Christmas tunes playing as I turn those card ideas into actually Christmas cards. There is just something cozy to me about crafting in the fall/winter. Crafting is probably my main hobby and at one point in my life I probably would have said I wasn't crafty and never would be! Who knew a couple forced scrapbooking classes would have changed that? Thanks to Danielle for that, I totally enjoyed it so no complaints from me.

Also, I think for me all the crafting that I do is based on things that are happening in the fall and winter. I do Christmas cards, I make fall wreaths so all of this involves the cozy months. Yes, October through March are my cozy months. Normally, you're not going to get cozy on a humid July night but on wintery December night that is exactly you would find me doing. If you know me you know I don't really like socks but give me a pair of slippers any day in my cozy months! I think crafting in my cozy months come about because I'm inside more I'm not out at the beach or by the pool. Is anyone else like this? Fall comes and you're all about crafting and cooking and baking? Honestly, this is me I get very domestic when fall hits! Please tell me I'm not the only one?

What are your favorite crafts? Have you always been crafty? Let me know.

Happy Wednesday Loves

Weekend Update!

Okay I didn't do a great job getting back into blogging last week but this is going to be harder than I first thought! I'm so out of practice with blogging I forget I was even going to blog half the time! So lets cross our fingers for a better week this week!

As I didn't bake/cook anything exciting last week I decided to just make this a ramble blog about my weekend. I'm adding Friday into this because we had our first client day of the semester on Friday. I got to do a roller set on one client and a cut and style on another! I was nervous about it before but the day went great and we all got through it amazingly! Job well done to all of us! After school was over I honestly just chilled for the rest of day because I was tired from the full week of school. Saturday, I have to say I didn't do that much either. I went to lunch with Erica and finished baby shower shopping for my friend Deena since Sunday I was going up to Halifax for the shower. Saturday night I was super cool and did laundry and homework! I know you're jealous but not all of us can be that cool!

Sunday I was up and off around 10:30 with Erica to Halifax for the shower. The shower was so much fun and very well done by Deena's twin sister Dawn and mother Linda. Not only did I get to have a lovely time at the shower but I was able to spend some time with some of my favorite people. We had a great afternoon of chatter, games and shower food! I wish I lived closer so I could everyone more. I say this and my friends here I don't see enough either! Anyways it was a great weekend but never long enough! I could use for some more relaxing time but alas I will sleep when I'm dead right?

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo

This Weekend I.....

It is after 8pm and I'm just sitting down at the computer to blog! This day was much busier than I thought it was going to be but it was all good stuff so I can't complain! I hope you're all having a great Monday!

Okay, weekend update time! This weekend was pretty laid back! On Friday last minute it was decided to take a drive to Antigonish and have dinner at Boston Pizza! It was a pretty drive because the leaves are starting to change and it was lovely driving down around sunset! Had a great dinner at Boston Pizza! Thai chicken bites are tasty! Also, might have had a nice little twisted rocket drinky! And of course I have no pictures to show you!

Saturday, spent the day running errands and hitting up Sterlings for some fresh veggies and fruits! The weather was beautiful too so for whatever reasons I love running fun fall errands on such days! Even though it was warm it was fall errands because we got pumpkins for outdoor decorations! In the evening I headed to my cousin Amy's 30th birthday party! It was nice little gathering. She is a month older than me so I get to rub that in! Nice seeing everyone that was there and I got to see the babies of the family! I bet you wish I had a picture to you show how cute the babies were but yup I took my camera and phone but left both in my purse for the whole night! One of these times I will document my weekend!

Sunday was another beautiful day! I got some house work done, put my summer clothes away and just chilled because I didn't really have much to do! How was  your weekend? I hope it was great!

I have some fun ideas coming up over the next month because I have put it out there to some friends about guest blogs and I know these people will give us some great ones. Not sure when it is going to start but I'm hoping soonish :)

See you tomorrow for some Taste of Tuesday!

I will leave with this picture of the sunset tonight!

Hey my lovelies! How is everyone's Monday going? I have to say mine is going well no Monday blues yet anyways but it is still early! I do have to say it is hard to have complaints when you wake up to a nice blue sky and the sun shining in your windows! Mind you it was/is chilly this morning! The weather has really changed to fall in the past week.

As it is Monday I'm suppose to tell you all about my weekend but I have to say I don't think I did enough to even make a post about it! I didn't take any photos and really I mainly lazed around, played with dogs and cleaned! That in a nutshell was my weekend so there you go!

This week I have a couple of fun posts planned, some good recipes and the regular party day on Friday! But, right now it is time to go and finish my squats for the day and have a shower! Happy Monday everyone!

Weekend Update...This weekend I....

Monday again already! The weekend flew by as it normally always does right!? It was a great weekend though! The weather was amazing and that makes for a very happy Brittany since that means it is pool time/fun in the sun time! It is summer so this girl is a happy camper!

On Friday myself and Erica headed to Pictou for dinner. We ate at the Lobster Bar which just recently opened. It used to be open in Pictou Landing years ago and now the son of the old owner I think has opened it again. It is nice to have another restaurant in Pictou on the waterfront because many places have closed this past winter. There is another place I'm hoping to try next weekend but anyways back to the Lobster Bar, it was pretty good, I had the lobster burger and fries which was yummy. Erica had the hot chicken sandwich and fries which she said was okay. They seemed to have used can gravy which just isn't the same. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and is well decorated. The service could be a bit better, but I think most of the servers are just all learning so hopefully that will fix itself right up. After we finished at dinner we got an ice cream and walked along the water front. It is so nice down in Pictou during the summer months. Love watching the boats, people and just everything.

On Saturday, I spent the day by the pool and then that night I headed to the drive in to see Man of Steel and Hangover III! Thankfully, Henry Cavill is hot because I have to say I didn't really like Man of Steel. I wouldn't say I hated it but I found myself bored a lot of the movie. If you really like Superman you will probably like the movie because I have heard it is very close to comic book story. For me I liked Henry Cavill hahaha Hangover III was pretty good! It was a lot better than the second one because this was had its own story instead of just being the same movie in a different place! Bradley Cooper was as hot as always so can't complain there! Love me some Bradley Cooper! It was pretty funny too! Some of the one liners from Alan were just killer! It had me funny and I stayed awake for the whole thing so that means something! As it didn't start until like midnight!

Sunday was a full day by the pool! Woke up got in my bathing suit and went outside! I even had a little burn going to bed last night, but thankfully I woke up and it was gone! We had BBQ for dinner and then as we were cleaning everything up clouds rolled in and quickly then the skies opened! I'm so happy we had everything inside and cleared up before that happened!

Sunbathing Baby!

Gus ready for a dip in the pool?

It was a great weekend! I can't wait for next weekend because it is the long weekend for Canada Day and I'm off to PEI on Sunday for the Big Red Music Festival! I can't wait to see Serena Ryder and Great Big Sea! Hope you all had a great weekend and have a great Monday!

Through my blog travels this week I can across another link up at Ashley's Carnival Ride! Again I suggest going to check out her blog! Her link up is Sunday Social (which she does with Neely, check her blog out too) and here is mine for the week!

1. What is your dream job? Oh! A dream job for me would be a travel journalist because it would combine two of my favorite things, travel and writing. Also being an author would be amazing.  I love writing so actually almost anything to do with that would be a dream job for me but I honestly I would be the happiest person in the world if I could travel and just write about it.

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time? I would travel around the world for sure! I would also volunteer with World Vision and hopefully be able to meet my sponsor child. Spend lots of time with my family and friends. Sleep a lot!

3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a reporter for a long time when I was kid. When I was in primary school I actually crossed out my name on my backpack and wrote in Connie Chung! I have no idea why I knew who Connie Chung was when I was 5 years old!

4. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field? I don't really have a field right now because I have just left my job to move to England. I was in the business world and I have to say I did not really enjoy it and I don't know if that was just because of the position I was in or if I'm not the business/office everyday kind of girl. Advice I would give to anyone in any field though is it is going to be tough to start out but if you find something you love you will excel and do great things in the world. Don't hold yourself back because you don't think you can do it because you can.

5. What are your biggest pet peeves in life, blogging, or at work? In life I hate drama! I'm not in high school anymore so please leave your drama at home because I don't care! In blogging people who hate on other bloggers! We are all out here doing the same thing so stop judging and just support each other.  At work people who wear black jeans as dress pants! Yes we can all tell your slightly faded black jeans are not dress pants! This irks me to no end!

6. What are your biggest fears? My biggest fears are not accomplishing what I want to do in my life. There are so many things I want to do I don't know if I have time in my life to do them all and do them well. Also sharks, rats and getting into a car accident.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and watching the Olympics! xo

Sunday Funday!

Here are some videos from Ilya Bryzgalov, I think he might be crazy! One too many shots to the head! But he is one of the funniest people to listen to!
