Monday, Monday.....

Okay, everyone please cross your fingers that my computer stays working. It has been good for the past two days so here is hoping it stays that way for the time being.

Did everyone have a good weekend? Did you attend a Remembrance Day ceremony? I did both well I attended a Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday at one of the local elementary schools which was very well done and I watch the live one from Ottawa each year. I think it is so important to remember the vets and soldiers serving now everyday but of course especially on Remembrance Day. On Friday, my cousin Callee was down to come to the ceremony as well because when she was young she found medals and things from a soldier in her attic so she donated them to her elementary after finding out the story behind the soldier John Ross. The school has adopted John as their soldier and continues to pay tribute to him each year. It was lovely to see how they still carry on this tradition of celebrating him after a time of year since Callee has left the school. 

Since Callee was down we decided to go and have a nice lunch and catch up since we hadn't seen each other in awhile. It was great to have Callee around for some the day and have made plans for some more family Christmas-y stuff soon!

As for the rest of my weekend, I didn't do a whole lot because the weather was awful on Saturday so I went and did a couple of errands and then just chilled for the rest of the day/night. I did have plans to be somewhat productive on Sunday but that didn't happen. I'm hoping today will my day to get some stuff before work on Tuesday. I'm excited for Tuesday evening since I have a paint night to go to which should be great fun. They always are, I love them! It will be a year since I really got into doing some painting this week actually. Verna Paton (Paton with Verna on Facebook for anyone who wants to check her out) is the instructor and she is just a wonderful lady! I never thought I would love painting as much as I do and it is all because of Verna! She can make everything so simple for us beginners that things actually come together and you make some nice art!

TBB: Self Care

For most of us, we don't normally take the time we need for ourselves. Whether you're busy with work, kids etc it can be hard to find that balance of getting things done and actually taking the time for some self-care. 

Self care doesn't have to be something you're taking the whole day for (unless you want to). Self care can be as simple as taking the time to sit down and watch your favorite TV show.

We all have our favorite ways to pamper ourselves and take some time for ourselves. For myself, I love to take a bubble bath. We have a great bath tub so that makes for an even better bath because you can stretch out and really relax. I will light some candle, put on some music and just truly lay back and relax. 

Another easy way you can take some time for yourself is to give yourself mani/pedi or even better go and have someone else do it for you. It is a little thing to do but having your feet and hands look nice is always a bonus. 

Sometimes when you're stressed or overworked the skin needs a little help too. Face masks! You can do your face masks even when you're still trying to get some stuff done like folding laundry. Oh you could be folding laundry, watching your favorite TV show and have a face mask on. Now that is some multi-tasking but since two would be labelled self care in my books I think it makes it okay.

One thing I wished I took more me time for is reading! Honestly, I know I could do more since sometimes I think to myself why am I just randomly scrolling through facebook or instagram when I could be finishing that great book I started two months ago. 

When it comes down to it self care is all about taking some time for yourself. We all need it because when we are stressed/run down and all that other stuff we are of no use to anyone especially ourselves. So, take time for yourself and do whatever you do to refill your energy tank. Need some more ideas check out this site.

Remember you have to enjoy life because we only get one.

Random Monday

Okay, last week I planned on blogging all week but we can all see that didn't happen! Things come in three or so they say so I'm thinking I'm good now! I had my ear ache, that time of the month and now I have a cold which is probably bugging me the most out of these three things! I hate having a cold and not being able to breathe! I just feel like blah!

Anyways, I'm not even really sure what I should talk about today since I didn't do a thing this weekend expect lay around and be sick. I did start watching House of Cards last night since I decided it was time for me to embark on a new TV series and this was one I was looking at and since it was right there on Netflix I decided to go with it. I have only watched the first epsiode but I really liked it so I'm hoping the more I get into it the more I will like it. I also watched Catfish the Movie yesterday since I love the show I thought I should probably watch where it came from. It was an interesting movie! I loved seeing Nev and his brothers argue about different things and how they just decided to go and see 'Megan'. I think it is so weird when people lie about themselves online and play with people's feelings in such a way. I liked seeing Nev's story because you now know what it was like for him and he really does know what the people on the show are going through. I enjoyed it and if you watch the show I think you should check it out for sure.

I really wish I had something more fun to tell you but alas I don't! I will leave you with a couple of pictures I took last week when I was down at the beach :) Fingers crossed I feel better tomorrow! xo

And time for Weekend Update!

Happy Monday everyone! It is a beautiful day here the sun is shining so I really have no complaints for this Monday! I hope you all a great weekend I know I did and since this is a weekend update post I should tell you why!

This weekend wasn't a busy one just a nice chill weekend. On Saturday, I did some errands since there was some sales on at Walmart mainly flour for $10. It is basically the best deal on flour right now. Then Erica and myself decided to take the poopies to the beach! It was so nice down there. The tide was going out, the sky was blue and sand was warm!! This was nice because the breeze well really wind wasn't so warm. The water wasn't even that cold. The dogs had a great time. They were so tired for the rest of the day and night! Saturday night myself, Erica and our mom went to see the Right Kind of Wrong, it was a cute movie but nothing great. I want to see Captain Philips next time and I think we might go tomorrow just to go to the movies one last time before Empire Theaters is no longer. I hear it is really good. Also, if you're reading this and are in New Glasgow go to the movies tomorrow! Empire Theatres are donating 50% of the profits from tomorrow night to the Scott Jones Fund. 

Sunday, I did some housework yup that is as boring as it sounds! haha But after I was done I went to visit my best friend Danielle and her little girl Quinn. It was great visiting because we hadn't had a play date in far too long! Though it ended up being more of a date with me and Danielle because Quinn decided she was going to nap most of the time I was there! Totally not her normally but I guess a lazy Sunday can go for a one year too! 

And now it is Monday again! Time flies when you're having fun. I hoping to have a great weekend this coming weekend because I'm going to Halifax! Having a joint birthday dinner with my lovely girls, doing a little shopping and just going to enjoy staying at a hotel!

Happy Monday!

Hey my lovelies! How is everyone's Monday going? I have to say mine is going well no Monday blues yet anyways but it is still early! I do have to say it is hard to have complaints when you wake up to a nice blue sky and the sun shining in your windows! Mind you it was/is chilly this morning! The weather has really changed to fall in the past week. 

As it is Monday I'm suppose to tell you all about my weekend but I have to say I don't think I did enough to even make a post about it! I didn't take any photos and really I mainly lazed around, played with dogs and cleaned! That in a nutshell was my weekend so there you go! 

This week I have a couple of fun posts planned, some good recipes and the regular party day on Friday! But, right now it is time to go and finish my squats for the day and have a shower! Happy Monday everyone!

Random Rambling Monday!

Okay, so it is the beginning of another week! I'm staying with my cousin and her baby for a couple of days because her hubby is off on a business trip until Thursday I do believe! So, thankfully I planned ahead and I have some posts all ready to go for you guys in case I don't have the time to do some while I'm at Amy's. I actually have a pretty busy week ahead of me because Friday I'm leaving for a scrapbooking weekend! Crop and Create is having a weekend of scrapbooking fun in Moncton so of course me and my sister Erica decided we should probably go and partake in that! I was a busy little bee over the weekend trying to get as much ready for Crop and Create as I could because I didn't want to be rushing trying to get all of it done after I came back from Amy's. I much prefer to be organized, which I think I am. I have a couple more things to get done but I'm basically ready to go. I'm very excited that Kelly Purkey is going to be there this weekend! She is one of my favorite scrapbookers! And we are taking one of her classes so that is going to be awesome. From what I have gathered on this scrapbooking weekends I think we are in for one great time! 

Alright, before I started writing this post I was looking at what people search to find my blog and wow some stuff is pretty interesting! I think my favorite was birttney coffy blog! Nice try on the spelling of my name and coffee! Some of the more interesting ones were John Morris curling and how to wear a checked shirt!! Honestly, looking at the searches makes me laugh! I wish John Morris found my blog through searching his own name! Look him up he is a hottie! One of the reasons why I watch curling is because of him haha. Also, I know I have never talked about checked shirt so I'm blaming PinkLouLou for that one! Actually you know I love her to bits so Thank you Doll!

I'm starting to ramble now so I'm doing to wrap it up and go pack my bag for Amy's! Can't wait to see my little man Cameron! I hope you all have a fantastic Monday! Love you all and see you tomorrow!!

Unboxing! Erin Condren Life Planner!

Happy Monday Everyone! I know it is the first Monday in Spring Forward time change so no one is a happy camper today! I do love that we get an extra hour of sunlight but man it still sucks getting up in the morning when that extra hour is gone! But, this means it is closer to SUMMER!!! My favorite season! I mean who doesn't love summer!? If you don't like summer we probably can't be awesome friends haha

Anyways, I have been meaning to do this post forever seeing as I got my planner in January! But, better late than not at all! Last year I got my first Life Planner for Christmas and I have to say it was on my of favorite gifts because I love being organized and be able to write everything down! I know most people have moved on to working everything in with their smart phones but I love writing it down myself! I love pens and pencils too! I have quite the collections sitting beside me right now but seriously I will probably never not have a planner! It started back when I was grade 7 so really it will continue the rest of my life. Lets move on to the pictures!

Again this year I decided to ask for one of Christmas and again it didn't disappoint! Well, actually Erica forgot to order it and I didn't get it until the first week of January but that is okay because I love it so much and really I didn't need it until the first week of January anyways since I still had my old one! If you want a better look at the life planners you can visit the official Erin Condren Website or you can look up reviews on YouTube.

I don't really want to do a review on these planners because I will just gush about how much I love them! I really don't have any complaints so it is hard to do a review when you just plan on talking about you love something! That being said, I know they are pricey so I would say if you don't really like writing everything down or planning I would not spend the money on this planner because you will not get your money's worth. If you're like me you will get your money's worth, I don't think there is a page in my planner from last year that doesn't have something written on it. I do love the updates that they have done with the new planners, it is thinner, the monthly tabs are plastic now and there are lined pages in back instead of just unlined, I know I'm crazy! I prefer lined pages. Erica also ordered me the note pads, pens and pen holder. I love it all. If I won the lottery I would probably order everything off the website! Yes, I have an addiction but I love it! :)

Hey! That's Pin-tastic!

I'm finally linking up again with the lovely Ashley Paige over at I love you more than Carrots for her Hey! That's Pin-tastic link up! I have been slack with the pinterest doing lately but I'm back on track now and doing much more so I will be able to keep up :) Found a recipe for healthier chocolate muffins (apple sauce and greek yogurt! yummy)!  Hoping to make them this week so you will probably be able to see that here next week. Anyways back to my current job which is homemade stud earrings! I know so fun right! I love stud earrings and now I can make my own! These one are fabric and basically you're making a button and then attaching an earring back. I was even on the ball enough to take some pictures as I went! Sorry the lighting isn't great, my craft room is in the basement so sometimes I can't get it how I want! Hope everyone likes the tutorial!

Here is what you will need: pliers, scissors, fabric, a pen, glue gun, button maker and buttons, earring backs (I got my earring backs and buttons at the local craft store)

Now you're going to want to open your buttons and cut out the size pattern you will need. It tells you so don't worry. You can whatever size button you want.

Then once you have it cut out grab a button front and back to have it out.

Now, trace out the pattern for the fabric and cut it out

Now place your fabric over the button 'maker', as centered as you can get it

Then place a button front on top and press down, until you feel it 'click' into place.

Gather up the fabric and push it into the back of the button and place the back of the button into the button form and again press down until you feel it 'click' into place.

Then you can pop the button out!

It is time to use your muscles now, squeeze the back loop of the button until it breaks so you can remove it

Now that you have a flat surface you can hot glue the post of the earrings down to the back of the button.

And now just repeat for your other earring! You can use whatever fabric you want and whatever size buttons! These are great little earrings! I love them! We made them at our Christmas craft night and I have made a number of them since to add to little gifts! I know I will be making more for myself too :)

Just Rambling Monday

Why Hello My Lovelies! I wanted to have a nice Pinterest post for you today but sadly that isn't going happen because I don't have my camera cord and well the pictures don't magical transfer themselves over. Life has been busy all weekend with baby showers, errands and our cabinets being painted! Really makes for you not being able to get much done when you have your whole kitchen emptied out into different rooms! Also, it is of course taking longer which isn't good because we have to have everything back in its place by the end of week because we are having a party for my cousin who got married in Hawaii. Such a pain when you need to get things done!

Today I registered for Crop and Create Moncton in March. I'm super excited for it because it is a full weekend of scrapbooking with awesome classes! We signed up for Kelly Purkey's class and I'm so excited for that because Kelly is one of my favorite designers! It will be so amazing to take by her and just really get to see her action!

I wanted to do a better post today but my brain just isn't working for me so I will leave you with a super funny video! I can't believe this dog!

Monday Monday...Sorry there was no Sunday Funday this week but I was very busy and my internet decided it didn't want to work last night so what can ya do! On with the show today :)

So I’m at the age where my friends are getting married and having babies! It is kind of a scary age because you feel as if you should be at a certain place in your life when these things are starting to happen but whatever I’m not here to talk about real adulthood! I’m here to talk about my new obsession with baby clothes!

Yes baby clothes! I have always thought they were adorable because really how could you not!? But now since I have friends with babies I can buy the stuff and let me tell you it is addicting! Now, instead of just browsing around for clothes and things for me I find myself heading to the baby section or worse the children’s stores! I have to remind myself that a baby can only wear so many outfits before they will be into a new size and that most adorable little outfit is longer needed! I have been much better lately because I have been saving for my move, can’t drop 20-40 bucks each time I find some cute babies clothes anymore, well I could but I won’t be able to do anything once I move!

I hear I’m not the only once who has experienced this which makes me happy but I’m worried if I’m like this with my friends kids what am I going to be like with my own!? Not to worry about that now since there is NO plans for that anytime soon!

PS I will talk about my move soon! Big plans ahead!

It is my pleasure to introduce our new resident guest blogger Justin! I was thinking about what I could do to freshen the blog and add something to it and of course lets add a resident guest blogger! We will be having other guest bloggers but Justin will be your main blogger boy! Your BB if you will!

Now lets talk a bit about Justin! I ‘met’ Justin back in 2003 or 2004 I think on LiveJournal and we became fast friends due to our love of fashion, celebrity and everything glamourous! Justin has opinions, smart wit and great writing skills which is why I decided to ask Justin to be a part of my blog. He has been writing for years, some for pleasure and some on his school’s newspaper among other things! I know you will all love Justin as much as I do and if you don’t I really don’t think we can be friends anymore! ;)

Hopefully in the next couple of days we will have our first blog from Justin! Thanks everyone J
