Beauty Wednesday: Tips and Tricks!

14 May 2014 2 comments
Happy Hump Day Everyone! I have to say I don't find this week going as fast as last week and honestly that is okay with me. I think last week went so far because I was recovering from Backstreet Boys! This week I figured I would bring back Beauty Wednesday since I know a lot of you really like it!

Since most everyone loves knowing beauty tips and tricks I decided to give you a few of mine! I'm sure some of you know them but I figured I would give my top 10 tips and tricks!

Beauty Tricks by Brittany

1. Do your eye make-up first then it is easier to clean up any fall out or edges with your foundation

2. Hairspray your bobby pins! They won't move! They probably should make sticky bobby pins but they don't.

3. Use conditioner as your shaving cream! Not expensive stuff ladies!

4. Clear mascara to keep your eye brows in place!

5. Static hair? Run a dryer sheet over it! Or if you don't have one but you have your hand cream use just a bit in your hands then run them over your hair.

6. Want your lipstick to last all day? Put your lipstick on then put a tissue on your lips and brush on some translucent powder.

7. Avoid lipstick on your teeth by putting your finger in your mouth and then pulling it out, the excess lipstick should be on your finger instead of your teeth.

8. Have a special event coming up but the weather is going to hot and you might sweat? After your primer rub some gel anti-perspirant on the areas of your face where you might sweat!

9. Keep your perfume from fading away too quickly....place it on pressure points because they give off heat and will keep releasing the fragrance of your perfume!

10. Bobby pins should be worn with the wavy side down!

Hope you're all having a great week!

Beauty Wednesday! Just Some Quick Tips!

26 February 2014 No comments
Hey Ladies! I'm here for a quick Beauty Wednesday! I know I wanted to have one last week but I just didn't have time and honestly I don't really have time now but I'm making some!

Today, I just wanted to give you a couple of quick make up tips! So lets go...

Your concealer should be the exact same color as your foundation! If it is lighter or darker and you're trying to cover something it just draw attention to it!

Your under eye concealer however should be a shade or two lighter because you want to brighten this area.

Instead of highlighting between your eyebrows try highlighting over the arches of your brows. Sometimes highlighting over between your eyebrows just makes it look like your T zone is shiny!

Know your eye shape! Knowing your eye shape can make all the difference in the world because you want to be able to make your eyes pop and well sometimes not knowing the ins and outs of our eyes we can make them look bad. You know what I'm talking about we have all since it.

To make your lips look fuller, place a shiny gloss in the middle of your lips!

Highlight your cupid's bow! This is the dip on your top lip if you didn't know

Try your best to always match your face to your neck!

Remember, a smile is the best thing you can put on your face!

Love you all and see you again soon!

Beauty Wednesday: Sigma Brushes

05 February 2014 1 comment
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you're all having a great week. Mine of course is busy! We had Shampoo Day yesterday at the salon and are having another one tomorrow. Thankfully, I'm loving my cosmetolgy course. I will give a better update hopefully on Friday and if not then on Monday. As it is Wednesday I'm sure you're here for Beauty Wednesday! This week's topic is make up brushes! I have told you many times to wash your brushes on a regular basis so I hope you're all doing this! If you take care of your brushes, they will last longer even the ones you pick up at the local drug store!

Today, I'm not talking about the drug store brushes, I'm talking about my new Sigma brushes! When my mom asked me what I wanted from her for Christmas I honestly had no idea what I wanted! I didn't really need anything and well I couldn't even think of something I wanted until I watched another YouTube video and they talked about their Sigma make up brushes. I do have some nice brushes from Sephora and a couple from MAC but I really wanted to try the Sigma brushes. I decided that was going to be one of my Christmas gifts! And of course on Christmas morning I got the Essential Kit. They are the best brushes! I want every brush in the collection and one day I will have them all. There are a few of the brushes I would love to have a couple of because it is annoying to spot clean when changing colors and such. They are soft but not so soft they don't pick up the product or feel like they are not actually putting the product on your face. They wash really well and keep their shape when drying. One of my biggest pet peeves with brushes is when they loss hairs on your face! These brushes haven't lost a hair yet! If you haven't guessed yet I'm totally in love with these brushes. I really like them more than my other brushes even though those ones are great too. The essentials kit is perfect too, gives you all the brushes you basically need and for a good deal. It was around $150 for 12 brushes. I know some of you might be thinking that isn't a deal at all but for those who know it really is since one brush can be $50. I especially like the eye shadow brushes from Sigma, they pick up the product nicely and deposit well on the skin. I don't feel like I'm going back and forth a hundred times to get good color payoff.

To sum it up I love these brushes and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great set of brushes. I maybe wouldn't tell you to get them if you're not into make up and wanting really nice brushes but if you do these are the brushes to get! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Beauty Wednesday! Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette

29 January 2014 5 comments

Beauty Wednesday is back! I'm happy to bring it back too! I have been trying to balance school and my personal life lately and sadly school is beating my personal life down but I will do another post that at a later date because it is time to talk make up!

I know I'm a tad late with a review of the Naked 3 palette but better late than never right?

As soon as I saw this palette I knew I needed to have it. I loved all the colors and I hadn't even seen it person yet. Once having it in my hands I loved it even more! I had to wait for Christmas to get it though because honestly at the time I could justify spending the money that close to Christmas. On Christmas morning though I had it in my hands with my new Sigma brushes(review on them at a later date). I honestly do love all of the shades because I love the rose gold theme to the palette. I course have some favorites though which are Limit, Nooner, Factory and Blackheart. All amazing shades! Since I don't do make up tutorials (maybe someday) I have gotten you the one I went to when I first started playing with the palette and I have to say this is my go to look now when I'm heading to class and don't have lots of time to play around with my make up. This tutorial comes from Casey Holmes...you should totally check out all of her videos because she is amazing and I love all of her videos. I have to say I didn't have a hard time with the color Trick like Casey did (a lot of people were saying the same thing as Casey), I found I had good color pay off right away. The matte shades in the palette are great cease colors, Darkside and Blackheart are what I have been going to constantly for an outer corner color. But here is the tutorial from Casey....

Now, if you have Naked and Naked 2 you're probably thinking "do I really need Naked 3?" I can't say for sure that you would need Naked 3 but I would say it isn't like Naked and Naked 2, the shades have a different look and they really are more rose gold tones. I do not have Naked 2 but I love my orginal Naked palette and I think both Naked and Naked 3 are perfect palettes. I most often am reaching for one or the other.

Do you have the Naked 3 Palette? What are your thoughts? Let me know!

Christmas Countdown Day Nine! Holiday Looks

19 December 2013 No comments
Hey Ladies! I cannot believe it is less than a week until Christmas! I'm so super excited I can't wait! We all know it is my most favorite time of year! Today, we are going to be talking about holiday looks, I had planned on doing a little fashion shoot and showing you my personal holiday fashions but alas I ran out of time and to be honest I don't have any idea what I'm wearing for most of the holiday. Thankfully, we have YouTube. I also think having the YouTube videos for make up and hair ideas is even better because I got you tutorials from some of the best beauty gurus out there!

Lets start with some beauty looks...

This is one of Jaclyn Hill's tutorials and she is amazing. Love this look! Maybe going to try something like this over the holidays.

This is probably my favorite look and it is from Casey Holmes. She is so cute and I just love her! I really want to try this look! I wish I had the same shades as her!

And the last make up look is from MakeupbyAlli, I love this look and she again is awesome. Love her and all her tutorials.

This is Nicole Guerriero and this is the only hair tutorial I'm really loving but I don't know if I can pull it off because my hair is thin but please if you try this look let me know! I do love it!

These last two looks are full make up, hair and outfit looks. The first one is from MissGlamourazzi aka Ingrid. I love her simple classic look. She always looks put together. And lastly we have Tanya Burr. This girl always looks perfect! Love her make up everyday!

Hope you have enjoyed these looks and give some of them a go for your holiday parties!

See you tomorrow for Day 10!

Princess Tag!

24 October 2013 2 comments

I was having some trouble figuring out what I wanted to write about today since I don't have a lot of time! I wanted to have something fun and then I saw this tag done by GlamLifeGuru aka Tati and I was bam there is the post for the day!!

Calling all Princesses!!

Share your all time favorite high-end products in each category (If you don't own a luxury item in every category talk about a product you are wanting to try & why you're attracted to it) ; D

- FOUNDATION - I don't have any higher end concealers, I actually only have one and it is Rimmel. I would love to try a Chanel foundation because a lot of the beauty love them! Maybe some day!

- CONCEALER - My favorite is BOING from Benefit! This stuff covers everything! The first time I got it, the rep from Benefit was at Sephora! She was super nice and told me that they have used this concealer to cover tattoos, so some redness or blemish could easily be covered and she was right! I love this stuff! I wish it was cheaper though since it is like $27!

- POWDER - I don't have a high end powder right now but I do like MAC. I like the finish and like how you can use it alone or with other products.

- BRONZER - I love MAC and Smash Box. I love how both are matte so you don't look too sparkly! As you age you shouldn't be wearing that much sparkle on your face!

- BLUSH - I rarely wear blush so I don't own any high end blush but I would love to try Tarte blushes if I ever start wearing them more.

- HIGHLIGHTER - I don't have a high end highlighter either but I would love to try High Beam by Benefit

- EYESHADOW - I love MAC shadows! They are normally highly pigmented and go on nicely. I also love the Naked Palette by Urban Decay! Again very pigmented for good color pay off and they are nice to put on the eyes!

- EYELINER - My favorite is MAC in smolder but I haven't tried that many high end eyeliners. I love how easily MAC liner slide on your lids though. There is never any tugging because the liner is too dry.

- MASCARA - We all know much I love mascaras! My all time forever is Diorshow! Again, we are talking about high end and this is like $30 so I don't buy it all the time but man if I could I would!

- LIP LINER - I normally don't wear lip liner so I don't really have expect for one MAC, so I will go with MAC liners.

- LIPSTICK - I love MAC lipsticks. I find you get great color, good moisture with most of them and a great variety of colors! Also, really like my Bare Minerals lip stick too!

- LIP GLOSS - Lancome, high shine and pretty colors!

- BROW PRODUCT - I was MAC shadow for my brows and I love it! Fills them in perfectly without looking over done.

- MISC... (CANDLE, BATH GOODIE, TOOL ETC) - I really think of one for this category!

- NAIL POLISH - Nope, don't have any high end nail polishs!

I do love high end products and yes sometimes I consider myself a Princess but really I do love my drugstore products too! I tag everyone who wants to do this tag!!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I heart Summer Tag! from Ingrid!

16 July 2013 8 comments
Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you all had a good Monday. Today, I decided to do the I heart Summer tag! If you watch YouTube videos you know Ingrid aka MissGlamorazzi. She came up with the I heart Spring Tag and did the I heart Summer tag recently. After I saw it I decided why not just throw it as a blog post! So, here are my answers to the I heart Summer tag! You can find Ingrid's YouTube channel here!

The Questions:

1. Favorite bronzer for summer? My favorite bronzer is Rimmel's Natural Bronzer in Sun Glow...it is perfect bronze for me, I like the color it gives you. If you're really pale you might not like this bronzer.

2. You're relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? (Favorite summer drink) light rum and lemonade, makes me think of Dominican and the beach :)

3. Favorite summer lip product? EOS lip balm in Sweet mint! Love it for keeping my lips soft.

4. Pool or Beach? Both! I love laying by the pool or at the beach :)

5. Summer = crazy hair! What's your must-have styling product? Not really a product but hair ties! So you can throw your hair up in a messy bun and still look fashionable.

6. Sun bathing or fake tan? Both, sorry I'm outside too much in the summer not to tan! Just remember your sun screen folks!

7. Favorite summer nail polish? I have been LOVING Selena by Selena Gomez for Nicole OPI. I think it is the perfect peach shade!

8. Any summer traditions? Family BBQs, drive in dates, girls dinner at Saltwater, PEI Wilson kids trip.

9. Favorite summer scent? Sunscreen! haha

10. Favorite BBQ food? I'm going with Ingrid on this one and I'm gonna say meats!

11. What's your favorite summer-proof product? Again, going with Ingrid and I'm going with Urban Decay's De slick setting spray! It is great!

12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip! I have already been on one summer trip to PEI with my sister Erica and our friend Katie to see a concert featuring Serena Ryder but we plan on going over again for the day because we have a tradition of the Wilson kids going over! So, myself and my siblings have to go over! Other than that I'm doing more staycations this summer because it is that kind of summer :)

And lets not forget it is Tuesday Tunes!

Today I'm going with Brave by Sara Bareilles because she is amazing and I love her! Enjoy! PS her new album is out today and you should get it!

Weekend!

29 April 2013 3 comments
I have been trying to post all day but I honestly kept getting sidetracked! I spent much of day cleaning out all my clothes! I have two HUGE bags of clothes for donation and one bag of shoes! I still have way too many clothes and I still have to get out my summer stuff but it feels good to have gone through everything and know what I have I actually like and wear! Plus I think we might be heading to Boston in June so gotta make room for some new clothes!

Anyways, I guess I should tell you about my weekend since that is the point of this post! On Saturday, I went to lunch with Erica and then hit up Wal-mart for some make up browsing! I watch EmilyNoel on Youtube a lot and she is always talking about Wet and Wild which is never a brand I look at because I feel like it is the cheap kid stuff! But I bought one of their eye liners because it was like $2 so if I hate it, it was only $2! I actually haven't tried it yet because I was lazy yesterday and today with my make-up! But I will let you know what I think of it! Saturday was a pretty chill day because it was kinda chilly and cloudy so we really just hung out and watched it most of the day! Oh I did a BUNCH of laundry on Saturday too! Always nice to get that stuff done.

Sunday was a great day! Nice and sunny! I love that it is finally starting to be spring! It is only almost May! But from the looks of the weather forecast we are moving nicely into spring now! I opened all my windows and emptied my closet out onto my bed! I didn't think it was going to take me two days but with my closet and dresser there was A LOT to go through! And I have to admit I took quite a few breaks to go and sit outside haha That may have caused the organizing to go awry on Sunday but today fixed that up! All done just have to drop the bags off for collection! :)

Kind of a boring weekend but it was nice for me, my brother is home from university for the summer now so it is nice to see him again. He has a girlfriend now so he didn't visit home as much this last semster so I didn't get to see him as often. Oh and the parents are home from Dominican! They are so nice and tanned! They had a great time which is great! I'm still jealous I didn't get to go away this year! Whatever I'm going away somewhere next year for sure! I will go alone if I have too! Well not really because that would be a really boring vacation!

Okay I'm done rambling now! Hope you're all have a great Monday and have an amazing week! Love you all!

xoxo

PS Is it totally bad I want to listen to Christmas music right now? lol No I'm really not kidding!!

Linking up With a new link up this week! And of course with Sami! Check out their blogs because they are amazing! Time for bed now! xoxo

Beauty Haul!

10 January 2013 6 comments
Hello My Lovelies! I was at a loss for what to blog about today so I decided to give you a little look see at what I bought at MAC, Sephora and Lush over the weekend! I'm not a vlog lady maybe some day but not today since I'm sick with a stupid head cold! Booooo!! This cough is already driving me crazy! But anyways back to the shopping! I had a gift card for MAC from my parents so I decided I may as well get some things I needed and pick up some new lipstick! Which honestly before like July I hardly wore because I didn't overly like wearing it but now I love it! Hope you like this post since it is really the first post I have done like this! What are your favorite beauty products?

Also highlight of the day: Girl working at MAC said I have the best eyes and sorry if she was staring! The eye make up was good that day! You walk a little taller when you get make up compliments at a make up store!

This is MAC's blotting powder in Medium dark, best powder for reapplying and not looking like you did!

Bronzing powder in Golden! My favorite! Perfect for when I'm tan and when I'm not! I love that this one doesn't have a sparkle/shimmer to it.

Lip Glass in Underage: My go to neutral color for my lips, I honestly have been buying this for years!!
The lipstick is from there new Collection Strength and this one is Strong Woman, I love it! Nice and dramatic but not overpowering, I would wear this all day. For a deeper color, you could add the lip liner to it.

Only got this at Sephora and boy do I love it!! I just wanted a rollerball perfume to keep in my bag so I stopped into Sephora to check theirs out and oh man this scent by Jennifer Aniston is amazing! Just a fresh, slightly floral, a tad hint of musk, truly an easy wearable scent.

And I just picked up a couple of bath bombs from Lush. Twilight, Ickle Baby Bot and Big Blue. Love how soft and lovely your skin feels after a Lush bath.

Alright ladies, hope you enjoyed seeing my products. See you tomorrow for some Friday letters!
xoxo

Guest Blog Featuring the Lovely Katie!

19 October 2012 5 comments
Hi blog dolls!  My name is Katie and I blog over at Lady Million.
You're reading this, so I already like you.  But I also like mimosas, makeup, and coffee in case you were wondering.

First, you should know extreme organization makes me weirdly happy.
"A place for everything, and everything in it's place" :)
One of my many motto's.
Hence why I HAD to have this thing.  My hands were tied.  I had no choice.
Reason #2 is that I secretly want to be a Kardashian and they use this type of storage.
Google it for proof.

What:  Muji Acrylic Cases... found here.
Price:  $27.95 + s/h for the 5 drawers

You literally cannot get this quality for a better price.  Trust me, I tried.  After some intense research I found that to get this type of system anywhere else, you will most likely be paying in the $100's....
Sorry.  Not happenin'.
Read the reviews at the bottom of the Muji website and most of them say something like this:
"I couldn't ask for a better makeup storage system!.... they are so pretty and all my friends LOVE them..."
Needless to say, I'm pretty happy I found these badboys.
I did the 5-7 business day shipping, so my total order was arounnndd... $35.00
It did take the full 7 days which I was not uber excited about.  I got so impatient that I hunted down random FedEx trucks driving around town looking for my package.  FedEx is not on my good side, but that I'll leave that story for another day.

All of you fabulous readers.... you need these.  Good makeup is an investment.  With these you can properly display your hard-earned collection, and keep it a heck-of-a-lot cleaner.
I dressed mine up a little bit with the greenery and stones to match the rest of my bathroom.  I also display a couple of my perfumes and some Clinique/Aveda products that I use daily on top.
Perfection.
To top it off, it saves me at least 5 minutes of prep time in the morning since I don't have to dig for makeup at the bottom of a bin.
#winning
To wrap things up... a big ol' thank you to Shang for letting me chime in on her blog :)  She. Is. Fab.

Does anyone else have anything like these?
What are you using for makeup organization?
