Fall Favorites!

THE FALL FAVORITES TAG –

Favorite Candle ~ hands down it is Sweater Weather from Bath and Body Works

Favorite Lip Color ~ Strong Woman by MAC...This is a beautiful matte deep purple color, it was in the Strength Collection which was limited edition so sadly I can't link you it but believe me when I say it was amazing! I'm sure you can find a dupe for it somewhere!

Favorite Drink ~ I know most of you will say a Pumpkin Spice Latte aka PSL but I'm just not a fan I will pick my vanilla latte over that every time all day!

Favorite Blush ~ I'm still loving Amaretto by Jaclyn Hill for Becca. I love the muted rosey tone, I'm not super into blush so I have a few staples and this is one of them.

Favorite Clothing Item ~ For the fall it is sweaters! Cozy, warm, sweaters! They can be pullovers, cardigan, boyfriend style etc! I love them all!

Favorite Fall Movie ~ Hocus Pocus....Do I have to say anything else?

Favorite Fall TV Show ~ The show I'm always most excited for to come back in fall is Criminal Minds. I'm still dealing with Derek Morgan leaving but lets not open that can of worms! I have to say I'm pretty amped about the fact Prentiss will be back for more then one episode in the upcoming season.

Favorite Thanksgiving Food ~ Turkey! Oh and my mom's butterscotch pie! To die for!

Favorite Halloween Costume ~
I think I was a witch most years but when I was little, one of my mom's friends made me a Raggity Anne costume wig and all! I have to say I looked pretty cute! I do remember not liking the wig though, made my head itchy!

(sans wig because it was itchy for sure!)

Let me know what your favorite fall things are? As I have gotten older I find myself enjoying fall more and more.

Crafts = Fall?

07 September 2016 3 comments
September brings back to school and basically the start of fall even though fall does not really start until closer to the end of September. Also even though I have been out of close for a bit now the school year marks a new year for me. I know a lot of you are the same and I have to say that September/Fall always marks the true beginning of my crafting season.

Now, I will say I do some crafting all year round but honestly you will rarely find me crafting in the summer! The odd rainy day maybe but even then probably not. End of August start of September, I will creep down to my craft area clean and re-organize, maybe even toss some ideas around for Christmas cards. Middle of September press your ear to the door and you might even hear some Christmas tunes playing as I turn those card ideas into actually Christmas cards. There is just something cozy to me about crafting in the fall/winter. Crafting is probably my main hobby and at one point in my life I probably would have said I wasn't crafty and never would be! Who knew a couple forced scrapbooking classes would have changed that? Thanks to Danielle for that, I totally enjoyed it so no complaints from me.

Also, I think for me all the crafting that I do is based on things that are happening in the fall and winter. I do Christmas cards, I make fall wreaths so all of this involves the cozy months. Yes, October through March are my cozy months. Normally, you're not going to get cozy on a humid July night but on wintery December night that is exactly you would find me doing. If you know me you know I don't really like socks but give me a pair of slippers any day in my cozy months! I think crafting in my cozy months come about because I'm inside more I'm not out at the beach or by the pool. Is anyone else like this? Fall comes and you're all about crafting and cooking and baking? Honestly, this is me I get very domestic when fall hits! Please tell me I'm not the only one?

What are your favorite crafts? Have you always been crafty? Let me know.

Happy Wednesday Loves

Fall Preview: TV Edition

05 September 2016 2 comments
With the fall coming, we have the return of out favorite TV shows and new shows to become addicted too! I have been seeing some commercials and I have to say I think there might be some shows this year I'm quite looking forward to. Last year I did not really get into anything new which is kind of sad but I didn't take the time to get into anything new to be honest, I dvr'ed my faves and that was it. This fall television season I hope to keep up something new!

First lets talk about my returning favorites...

Criminal Minds: We all know I have such a love for Criminal Minds and with all the drama surrounding it I'm wondering how that are going to handle everything. With the departure of Derek Morgan and now Aaron Hotchner I'm getting nervous on what will happen with the show and will it survive to live another season after this one and honestly I think they might be the end. On a happier note they have annoced that Paget Brewster will be coming back to show for more than one guest appearance! If you take away Morgan you have to bring back Prentiss! Prentiss and Morgan just exude badass-ness! Anyways, I'm always going to be a fan so bring on another season even if it crushes me with no Morgan or Hotch! (Season 12 starts September 28th on CBS)

How to Get Away with Murder: I love this show! I don't think I have really talked about it on here because I have been basically absent on the blog since this show started. If you're not watching it, you should be! It is full of suspense, scandal and sheer insanity! I have been a fan since the first episode and I cannot wait until the new season starts! I have even gotten my mother hooked. I'm hoping she watches the rest of the second season before the third one starts so I have someone to talk to it about. The storylines of this show are what keeps me coming back for more because they are basically insane but they just pull you in and you have to keep watching! I will sometimes not watch for a few weeks just so I can binge watch and not have to wait for the next week! This is why I wish everything was on Netflix but the whole waiting a year for another season just would be too much for me with this show! (Season 3 starts September 22nd on ABC)

Gilmore Girls: I'm so excited for this revival! I watched this religiously every Tuesday night! Funny fact I could not stand Rory but it was still my favorite show! Yes, I know she was one of the main characters but she just irked me! I have been trying to get into a new series on Netflix but I feel like I'm going to re-watch Gilmore Girls but this revival starts instead! I'm excited to see where the characters are now and what they have been up to since the show ended. I'm also pleased that basically the whole cast is back! It would have been the same if some of them were left out. Were you a Luke and Lorelai fan? Dean, Jess or Logan? Oh gosh yes I'm so excited to watch this! (Revival starts November 25th on Netflix)

This Is Us: I don't know a lot about this show but from the commercials I have seen I want to watch this show when it starts. Also, no I wasn't really a Jess girl so I'm not just wanting to watch this because of Milo Ventimiglia. This show looks your everyday people working through life which I think will make for a good show. Some people are hoping it will replace Parenthood for them which I sadly have not watched yet but again that always seemed like a real life show. High hopes for this one! (Season 1 starts September 20th on NBC)

There you have it the shows I'm looking forward to watch this fall TV season! What shows are you looking forward to? Old or new ones? Let me know!

Sunday Funday!

21 September 2014 No comments
Sunday Funday! Or Sunday do laundry and homework all day! Either way I hope you're all having a great Sunday! It is lovely here today. The sun is shining and the breeze is delightfully warm. So doing this fall themed link up seems weird but I haven't linked up with Ashley and Neely in a VERY LONG time so I figured why not do it today!

1. What is your favorite part of fall?
My favorite part of fall is the crisp weather, changing colors, sweaters, boots and all that fun stuff. I'm going getting back into crafting in the fall too because I hardly take the time to do it in the summer since I would rather be outside.

2. Do you have anything special planned for fall?
Not yet anyways! Baby Leigh is coming in October/November so I'm excited for that but that has nothing to do with me planning anything haha

3. What is fall like in your area?
Fall is just fall here, crisp weather, farmer's markets and such.

4. What is your favorite football team to cheer for (college or professional)?
I'm not a football fan so I have no answer for this.

5. Do you decorate for fall? Show us pics!
I do decorate for fall but I don't have of it out yet nor do I have pictures of it from other years so you will just have to take my word for it :)

Hope you're all ready for another week! Have a relaxing Sunday evening folks!

This Weekend I.....

30 September 2013 No comments
It is after 8pm and I'm just sitting down at the computer to blog! This day was much busier than I thought it was going to be but it was all good stuff so I can't complain! I hope you're all having a great Monday!

Okay, weekend update time! This weekend was pretty laid back! On Friday last minute it was decided to take a drive to Antigonish and have dinner at Boston Pizza! It was a pretty drive because the leaves are starting to change and it was lovely driving down around sunset! Had a great dinner at Boston Pizza! Thai chicken bites are tasty! Also, might have had a nice little twisted rocket drinky! And of course I have no pictures to show you!

Saturday, spent the day running errands and hitting up Sterlings for some fresh veggies and fruits! The weather was beautiful too so for whatever reasons I love running fun fall errands on such days! Even though it was warm it was fall errands because we got pumpkins for outdoor decorations! In the evening I headed to my cousin Amy's 30th birthday party! It was nice little gathering. She is a month older than me so I get to rub that in! Nice seeing everyone that was there and I got to see the babies of the family! I bet you wish I had a picture to you show how cute the babies were but yup I took my camera and phone but left both in my purse for the whole night! One of these times I will document my weekend!

Sunday was another beautiful day! I got some house work done, put my summer clothes away and just chilled because I didn't really have much to do! How was  your weekend? I hope it was great!

I have some fun ideas coming up over the next month because I have put it out there to some friends about guest blogs and I know these people will give us some great ones. Not sure when it is going to start but I'm hoping soonish :)

See you tomorrow for some Taste of Tuesday!

I will leave with this picture of the sunset tonight!

Firstly I want to thank the ever lovely Pink Lou Lou for guest blogging for me yesterday! Didn't you all love her post! I'm even more in love with fall now. I think I have mourned summer being over enough now so bring on everything fall! Thanks for making me want to go and buy a bunch of sweaters, jeans and scarves PLL! haha

Also, welcome to my new followers! Love having you here now! Thanks for dropping by from PLL's blog and liking it is enough here to follow me! I love you all already.

Now onto Friday Letters because that is what I do on Fridays!

Dear PinkLouLou again thank you for posting and amazing blog post and having an amazing blog that got me back into blogging and actually loving it! You're awesome!

Dear Fall, you're really here now because it is freaking cold today! I have broken out the fleece pj pants! But it is okay because I got to wear a super cute scarf today :)

Dear Ben Affleck, I have recently developed a new crush on you. I normally was all about your best friend Matt Damon but holy you have become the hot one now. Is it weird I had this revelation when I saw Argo's trailer for the first time. The shaggy look isn't your best look but hmm you're pretty hot. Watched Anderson today and confirmed my crush! Thank You for being hot Ben Affleck!

Dear Property Brothers, thank you for being on TV right now so I don't watch Criminal Minds all night! Now I will only watch it most of the night. Also, Jonathan, you're the hotter twin brother because you're the handyman, makes you hotter sorry Drew.

Dear Fall Rainy Night, please bugger off by tomorrow because I don't like you! :)

PinkLouLou's Fall Fashion Must-Haves!

11 October 2012 17 comments
Hi ladies!

PLL here guest blogging for Miss Brittany!

October is my favorite month of the year, and not just because it is my birthday month, but because it signifies the beginning of fall, the best season IMHO. ;)

So get out your Candleberry hot maple toddy candle, set up your pumpkin decor, and let's talk fall fashion must-haves!

I have compiled a list of fall staple items every girl needs in her closet to be oh so chic for the autumn weather.

First off: boots and your favorite dark denim jeans. Not necessarily to be worn together, but you need both- trust.

I just ordered these boots! And these jeans are my absolute fav dark wash, boot cut jean. Necessity people.

2: You need to have scarves. I just found these and decided I needed... so cute for fall!

3: Sweater Dresses. So cute with tights and heels, or boots! This one hails from Old Navy, and packs a lovely price tag.

4: Vest and button downs. Wear together, or separate, but I love this look with jeans and boots!

5: Sweaters. Like long sweater cardigans to be exact...  LOVE this one. Go for neutral colors, creams, browns, blacks so you can wear them with everything :)

6. Skinny jeans. In multiple colors. My personal fav are these from Express!

7.  A fab bag. I have been lusting over this baby for some time... and have finally decided to just go ahead and make it mine. Gorgey, no?

And when all else fails, just try and re-create this look. NO idea why I love it so much, it just says "oh look at me being so effortlessly fall chic" to me. HA.

Hope this helps get you inspired for fall!! I will be posting some more fall fashion finds on my blog this week! Thanks so much for having me Brittany!

xo,

Fall Soup: Tomato Basil Parmesan

17 September 2012 No comments
On Wednesday I decided to try another slow cooker soup and this time it was a Tomato basil parmesan soup. Let me tell you this soup does not disappoint in any way! And since it is basically done in a slower cooker how could this not be easy! And how good does this soup look!?

The night before I chopped the carrots and celery and got everything I needed together so the next morning I did not have much prep to do to get the soup in the slow cooker and it makes the house smell amazing for the day! The most work you have to do with this soup is make a roux and honestly that is super easy! We all know I hate it when this are hard in the kitchen! The only thing I suggest when doing this recipe is putting in your blender or using a hand blender to make it a nice creamy smooth soup and I only used one cup of cream and I used light cream. I know I made this but I have to say it is probably the best soup I have ever tasted. My cousin even suggested if you had leftover soup you could even use it has a sub for pasta sauce! Everyone who had some loved this soup! I was basically forcing it on people I even took some over to my friend when I was visiting her last week because I know she loves soup and would love this one!

If you're looking for a good fall soup this is for you! I promise you will love it!

Chocolate Zucchini Cake

01 September 2012 2 comments
Happy September Everyone! Today really felt like fall! Crisp air and a sunny sky is how I love my fall days and this was one. I still feel sad that it means summer is coming to an end but I guess that is how the seasons work.

Anyways today when I was out at the Farmer's Market (one of the best things about this time of year the produce!) I picked up some zucchinis because I saw a chocolate zucchini loaf on one of my favorite blogs (A Pretty Life in the Suburbs) and her recipes always turn out great and it just looked too good not to try it! This is another really easy recipe because we all know how much this girl loves her easy recipes! A few ingredients but really nothing you won't already have in your kitchen well expect for the zucchini unless you have been to the Farmer's Market already :) Prep time not long and then cook time is 50-60 minutes but really clean up will take you half that time! Then you have to wait and just smell the yummy loaf baking! This loaf is moist and just so delicious! You have to stop yourself from having too much! This is how mine turned out

I'm thinking about trying the original zucchini loaf next week because this one turned out so good! Loved it as did the rest of the family :)

See you tomorrow for Sunday Social!

Linking Up again with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social!

1. What is your favorite Fall activity?
Probably going for drives to see the colors change and carving pumpkins! Going to miss seeing the colors change this year in Nova Scotia.

2. Do you follow a football team? if so which one and why?
I don't follow football at all! Honestly pretty sure I couldn't name more than 5 teams in the NFL

3. What is something fun about Fall in your area?
The holiday craft fairs start after Thanksgiving and those are my favorite! I'm hoping there are great ones in England for me!

4. Fav Fall outfit staples?
Sweaters, nice jeans, boots, cute flats

5. Thing you are looking forward to most about this coming Fall season?
Having my mom and her friend Debbie visit me and my sister in England, figuring out all the holiday fun we can have in Rochester :)

6. Favorite Fall holiday? Traditions?
Me and my siblings carving pumpkins, thanksgiving dinner with the family (which this year will be the first thanksgiving I won't be spending with my family)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo
