Hey! That's Pin-tastic!

I'm finally linking up again with the lovely Ashley Paige over at I love you more than Carrots for her Hey! That's Pin-tastic link up! I have been slack with the pinterest doing lately but I'm back on track now and doing much more so I will be able to keep up :) Found a recipe for healthier chocolate muffins (apple sauce and greek yogurt! yummy)!  Hoping to make them this week so you will probably be able to see that here next week. Anyways back to my current job which is homemade stud earrings! I know so fun right! I love stud earrings and now I can make my own! These one are fabric and basically you're making a button and then attaching an earring back. I was even on the ball enough to take some pictures as I went! Sorry the lighting isn't great, my craft room is in the basement so sometimes I can't get it how I want! Hope everyone likes the tutorial!

Here is what you will need: pliers, scissors, fabric, a pen, glue gun, button maker and buttons, earring backs (I got my earring backs and buttons at the local craft store)

Now you're going to want to open your buttons and cut out the size pattern you will need. It tells you so don't worry. You can whatever size button you want.

Then once you have it cut out grab a button front and back to have it out.

Now, trace out the pattern for the fabric and cut it out

Now place your fabric over the button 'maker', as centered as you can get it

Then place a button front on top and press down, until you feel it 'click' into place.

Gather up the fabric and push it into the back of the button and place the back of the button into the button form and again press down until you feel it 'click' into place.

Then you can pop the button out!

It is time to use your muscles now, squeeze the back loop of the button until it breaks so you can remove it

Now that you have a flat surface you can hot glue the post of the earrings down to the back of the button.

And now just repeat for your other earring! You can use whatever fabric you want and whatever size buttons! These are great little earrings! I love them! We made them at our Christmas craft night and I have made a number of them since to add to little gifts! I know I will be making more for myself too :)

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Happy Pinning!

This will also be posted to Pinspiration Project!

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
-I do! I think most people do because of how we eat during the holidays! LOL

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?
-I don't have too many, mainly just try to get in whatever you when you can because we all know we are all busy but gotta make the time!

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the Holidays?
-My favorite thing is just spending quality time with my family and friends! I love the days where we all just lay around as a family and watch TV and really just be totally lazy! This is normally Boxing Day and the 27th! Best days!

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?
-Oh gosh I don't even know where to start with this question so I think I'm just gonna leave it alone!

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
1. Deena and Gavin are moving back to Nova Scotia! Why am I excited about this because it will be awesome to have them in the same province and not across an ocean!
2. I'm turning 30....wait I'm not sure I'm excited about that!
3. Hopefully going to see some curling at the end of the month! Super excited to hopefully see Team Koe and Team Martin!

Happy Sunday Everyone! xo

Christmas 2012 Wrap Up Finally!

Yes I know this is rather late but what can you do!? I didn't feel like writing a real post so this post was going to have to wait wasn't it? But here we are and this is my Christmas 2012 wrap up! I had another great holiday season as I always do. Our holidays are filled with family, traditions, food, presents, lights drives and everything in between!

This year myself, Erica and my friends Danielle and Tiana started an annual Christmas Craft Day and sleepover! Next year it will be including our other lovely Deena! It was a great success! We made lovely ornaments, earrings, mugs, went to dinner, a Christmas lights drive and watched Home Alone! It was great having the girls down, I just love them!

Christmas lights drives are a must at our house and this is one of my favorite houses! I love how all out they go! I can only imagine how much kids love it!

Gus and Jagger got new coats for Christmas because they got a nice hair cut! Who wants to be cold in Canada in the Winter!!

Got to have lovely Christmas visit with my little woman Quinn! She was very excited about Christmas! Love my Quinny!

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree! This is our beautiful tree this year! At first I wasn't if this was the tree we should have gotten but it was perfect! This was on Christmas Eve, when my mom's side of the family comes over for a potluck! We have been having this since I can remember and I have to say it is my favorite meal of the year because everyone brings such yummy food! I should have gotten a picture of the table but I forgot because I was preoccupied with Lucas and then being hungry haha

Cousins! Callee is basically our other sister and I guess Ashdenne should be in the picture too! Closest thing we got to a family shot this year! Oops!

The tree at night! I sat in the living room a lot this Christmas because just chilling by the tree is one of my favorite things about Christmas!

The siblings! Me, Chase and Erica! Love these two to death! Don't know what I would do without them.

Baby Cousin Lucas! He is just the sweetest kid!

Christmas Eve! Think we have enough gifts for 5 people?

I guess I didn't upload any pictures from Christmas day which honestly I can't remember if I really took any because no one wants their picture taken when we are opening presents and then I got really lazy. So I must have but they could just be on my phone! Which I got a new iPhone 5 for Christmas! Thanks Santa! haha On Christmas Day myself and Erica also hit up Les Mis which was AMAZING! I loved it even more then I thought I was going too! I really loved the casting, also I have to add if Taylor Swift had of played Eponine she would have ruined the whole movie for me because she doesn't have the chops for Eponine. Please remember this is my opinion.

And of course we had our annual Girls plus Mike Potluck! This is always a fun night of catch up chat, laughs and good food. Lydia was finally able to come after I think about 3 years of not being able to come because of other family get togethers and since she lives in Toronto we don't get to see her that much. Laura was also home from Calgary and Mike from San Fran! Always nice to have everyone (almost)! A Great 7th (I think) Annual Potluck! Love these girls and that boy! xo

Hope everyone had a great holiday season! xo

Friday's Letters

Dear 2013, I enjoyed 2012 so I'm really hoping you have some awesomeness planned to make me love you! I would like 2013 to be filled with everything amazing. I have a few things planned for you myself but if you could step in and make some fun surprise happen I would be okay with that! Here's to you 2013!

Dear Grand Slam Curling, I would really like to come in see you in Cape Breton! Please don't be sold out or have totally shitty seats left when I go to buy some tickets!

Dear Mother Nature, I know you have been rather good to us this winter but if you could please not storm so I can get to the curling in Cape Breton in a few weeks that would be amazing! I will be asking for this each week until it is time for the curling!

Dear Team Koe, Please be playing when I come to see some curling! I would be rather sad if I came and you guys didn't have game to play while I was there.

Dear Deena and Gavin, I'm very excited to have coming back to Nova Scotia! I know you're both excited and nervous but it will all work out! You have more love and support then you're going to need. Love you both so much! xo

Have a great weekend everyone! See you on Sunday!

Oh! How Pinteresting!

Even though I hope it would be a success I had it in the back of my mind that this could be another blog fail, thanks again to you lovely readers it isn't.
