Back to Blogging..Yes...No...Maybe

Hello strangers! I know and no I'm not going to make any excuses for why I have not been blogging. I will tell you it became too much of a chore and when I do not find blogging fun, I can't make myself write something or even come up with a good idea for something to write. Yes, that is kind of an excuse but whatever it is what it is.

I have been planning my comeback for awhile now actually, which means I have scheduled posts ready to go! Heck if you want to know the truth this is a scheduled post I wrote up back in early August! By the time you're reading this I will probably be working on Christmas posts (which you know are my favorites)! Actually, this is coming beginning of September so I will probably be working on some DIY Fall/Halloween stuff. But none the less I'm planning and working on it so you should at least have posts to read until November!

Also, I'm looking for someone to help me with my layout! I'm crap at all that stuff but I would like a bit of a spruce up here, if you or someone you know if willing to help me out for a reasonable price let me know.

1. Are you named after anyone? Yup, my mother loves Rod Stewart and once he was married to a woman named Britt Eklund and so the story goes my name came from there. I'm happy they went with Brittany too because the other name in the running was Chantal and I just don't think I'm a Chantal.


2. When was the last time you cried? Since, this is a scheduled posted I can't really answer this with good accuracy, but I cry a lot because I watch dog rescue videos and they ALWAYS make me cry. Yes, I know I should stop watching them but I just can't help it.


3. Do you have kids? No


4. Will you ever bungee-jump? I can say with almost 100% certainty this will never happen!


5. What's your favorite cereal? I don't eat cereal that much but I enjoy Honey nut Cheerios and Fruit Loops ;)


6. What's the first thing you notice about people? Their hair, I'm a hairstylist I will always notice hair first. Also, even if you have nice hair I will be thinking about what else we could do with your hair in my head.

7. What is your eye color? Green most days but sometimes they look blue.


8. Scary movie or happy endings? I don't like scary movies but I do not need a movie to have a happy ending to like it.


9. Favorite scents? Oh lord so many, anything that smells like Christmas, lavender, lilacs, fresh cut grass, lemon and tea etc etc


10. Summer or winter? Both for different reasons! Summer because I LOVE the weather, sun, swimming, being outside and the long sunny days. Winter because you can be cozy and snuggly, wear layers and slippers, drink hot drinks and CHRISTMAS!

11. What's the furthest you've ever been from home? London, England

12. Do you have any special talents? Nope!

13. Where were you born? Nova Scotia

14. What are you hobbies? blogging (duh), crafting, baking/cooking, watching youTube videos, make up, spending time with family and friends.

15. Do you have any pets? Yup! 2 dogs Gus and Jagger, they make my heart happy :)

Golden Globes Round Up: Strictly Fashion Talk

And Happy 2016 to you lovely folks as well! I know I said I would be doing Christmas posts and all that jazz but you want to know what...I was in a blogging rut, I hated everything I wrote and it was feeling like something I had to do instead of something that I wanted to do! When blogging feels more like work I can't do it! I also was very sick right before Christmas and lets be honest Christmas is not the best time to get back into blogging because it is an insane time anyways!

I figured I would ease myself back into blogging with a fashion round up of my favorite dresses at the Golden Globes. I have to say I was not overly in love with the fashions of the Globes this year. I hoping the Oscars will be something since the Globes though nice were not great. But alas I picked my favorites and here in no order are my choices for Best Dressed....

Perfect color for her, love the plunging neckline because she can pull it off! Simple with everything else, just loving this dress on her!

Amy Adams

This color is just amazing on her. I love how everything just looks effortless with this look for her. Everything is easy and just soft but still has that fitted look, this girl has a good stylist or really knows how to dress herself well.

Jennifer Lopez

This woman can basically do no wrong in my eyes so no real shocker here that she made my best dressed list. Her coloring is perfect for this marigold yellow. I love her soft make up and bold lip. And just hot damn look at that leg! Perfection!

Kate Winslet

This blue looks so great with her skin tone and honestly she is normally a contender for best dress. Kate knows to rock a red carpet. Nothing is over done with this look which I love.

I'm coming back to you....

Well, I can say with certainty I have not been the best blogger lately! But, I won't make excuses or apologize for it. Sometimes you want to blog and sometimes you don't. I don't even really have an idea for this post but I decided to get on here and just tell you I'm coming back! I have ideas for some posts and I do miss writing so I will be back Friday. I decided that I'm going to try and blog three times a week, I'm thinking Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I hope you're still with me! I have some beauty and fashion posts coming and hopefully some foodie blogs too! I'm also looking for guest bloggers so if you want to just let me know :)

A BLOG POST!!

What? Yes I'm actually blogging! I was starting to think I had forgotten how but alas I have shaken off that feeling and I'm back for today anyways! I'm hoping to have another Beauty Wednesday up this week too so fingers crossed!

Today, I was thinking I would give you a bit of an update on what has been keeping me away since January! In one word it can be summed up....SCHOOL! I have not been this busy in years! School is keeping me much more busy then work ever did. This is probably because I have to do things at home for school too. I have to say I am loving it though. I finally have that feeling of contentment I did not have before. We are working on perm wraps right now which I have to say I didn't really like when we started but since then I have caught on, still need more practice but basically have the hang of it now. I have also completed a blunt cut and uniform cut! I liked the blunt cut way more then the uniform cut! I think it is because the blunt cut came much more naturally to me.

Earlier this month we also had two days where we did free shampoos and styles. I was lucky enough that I had 4 people book an appointment with me. My cousin Ashdenne, was my first client and everything went smoothly with her! As did all my other clients which included Erica my sister and friends Cathy and Rebecca. Cathy actually came on both days we did the shampoos! Thank you ladies so much for coming in! I'm excited everything that is to come with this course and next term I'm excited for the coloring section!

The lovely Jessica Noelle nominated me for a Liebster Award! How sweet is she? I'm always so shocked when someone tells me they nominated me for this award. It is just so nice. Since, I have been nominated a few times now I'm just going to answer Jessica's questions since I really don't have new blogs to give you right now. I would love to be able to nominate a bunch more but I haven't been looking around for new blog lately since I have been so busy outside the internet lately. -Lets see right now I would love to be on a beach so maybe Bora Bora! I would also love love love to go to New Zealand and back to New York and London.

-Leonardo DiCaprio and has been for like 20 years!

What alcohol can you never drink again and why?

-Hmmmm I can't think of any alcohol I can't drink again, probably because I'm not a huge drinker anyways so I rarely get really drunk off anything. I can you I don't like cream based alcohols! 

If you could shop free at one store, which store would you choose?

-Free at one store? Sadly probably MAC, I love me some good make up! Or Sephora because then I can get make up and hair stuff!

What smell reminds you of your childhood?

-Homey smells, cranberry and mulberry scents because my mom always had those can of scented candles burning in the house.

What is something new that you would like to try this year?

-I think I am trying something new already this year and that is beauty school! I have always had an interest and now I'm finally doing it!! Also loving it!

For what reasons would you block someone on Facebook?

-Good question, I would say if they kept offending me with what they were posting, but really I would probably just hide them on my feed. I haven't had to block anyone who I don't know!

What is your go-to karaoke song?

-Anything Backstreet Boys!

What is the meaning behind your blog name?

-Just something I liked because I wanted my blog to feel homey and just easy.

Welcome 2014....Ramblings and an Announcement...

Well didn't I have a nice long break from blogging! I have to say I of kind of loved it but I did miss you! I really only went online to watch YouTube videos haha There is quite the snow storm going on outside today so I have been having quite the lazy day. I did want to have a somewhat productive day but you know sometimes plans just don't go your way.

Anyways, Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you all rang in the new year in style! I actually had a pretty chill night, went to the movies to see Grudge Match which was pretty good and watched NYE specials until midnight. Yes, I know how to party it up! haha I enjoyed my night and that is all that matters! I also hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was great as usual. Lots of time spent with family and friends, good drink, yummy food and nice presents. Everyone in my house was spoiled again like they are every year. We always say we are going to cut back but we don't cut back as much as we say we will! I love spoiling my family and I love them spoiling me. I will probably do a Christmas goodies post next week so keep your eyes out for that. 

This year I actually did Boxing Day shopping! Well, the day after Boxing day since everything here is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I have to say it was a good experience! I normally hate crowds because far too many people leave there brains at home when shopping. Luckily, each place we hit was not crazy busy! Or we got out just in time! I got some great gift cards for Christmas so I lucked out and got some amazing deals, Old Navy was buy one, get the next for $1! So I saved over a hundred bucks there, they had some really cute stuff out too! Also, hit up MAC which there was no sales of course but I had a gift card and I used it all! Love everything I got though! 4 new shadows, palette, insert and an amazing new highlight which I will show you in an upcoming post.

This is one rambling post! I almost feel like I have forgotten how to blog! But, lets get on the announcement. As most of you I think know I'm going back to school on Monday for cosmetology. I'm really excited about this and totally looking forward to it because I finally feel like I'm doing something for myself and this is something I will actually enjoy doing because office work was not it! Now, this means I won't have as much time for the blog until I get into a routine. I'm not going to disappear but if my post are few and far between for the next month that is why. I hope to have time in the evenings and weekend to plan and schedule some post but I can't make any promises right now. I hope you can bear with me for the next little bit! I do promise not to completely disappear and I do have some ideas for new blog posts so don't fear I will be around just not as much as I was in December. Thank you for all your support in 2013 and I know it will continue into 2014! I have a feeling this is going to be a great year!

Okay I'm really going to try and get back into my blogging everyone! I promise more cooking/baking blogs will come but it is been too darn warm to think of being in the kitchen so I don't have anything new yet but I promise it is coming!
